The Married at First Sight Australia 2024 cast are reportedly “furious” that they won’t make it as influencers and we’ve heard this one before!

For the second year in a row, the cast of the marriage experiment has struggled to bring in enough followers to turn social media into their full-time job. And is there even a point in going on MAFS if Insta fame is out of the picture?

Per Yahoo! Lifestyle, the current brides and grooms are struggling to make enough money after “giving up their day jobs during filming”. And just as Collins Christian feared, it looks like many of them will be going back to work!

One source even told the outlet they were “furious” about this outcome since they were “banking on” becoming famous on social media. Yikes.

Which MAFS 2024 stars have the most followers?

At the time of writing, Australia’s queen Lucinda Light is the most followed cast member, with 145,000 fans on the gram.

Next up is Lauren Dunn, with 69,700 followers, followed by Eden Harper, with 68,000.

Whilst these numbers may seem impressive, they pale in comparison to stars from previous years, such as Martha Kalifatidis, who has around 705,000 followers and Domenica Calarco, with over 513,000.

Among the least popular cast members are Jonathan McCullough, with 7,400 followers, Ash Galati with 4,150, Ben Walters with 3,900, and Home and Away‘s Madeleine Jevic, with 1,290 fans.

MAFS 2024 star is ‘BROKE’ after giving up their job to star on the show

This comes after a contestant told The Daily Telegraph that they were “broke” after starring on the show.

“I couldn’t even make my rent payments with what we were being paid,” they dished. “We would film late, so I would be ordering takeaway most nights.

“I spent a bomb on outfits, hair and make-up, and to top it off, they didn’t even let us wear what we wanted. If someone was wearing the same colour as someone else, they would make you change.” Yikes.

According to the outlet, contestants were paid $150 a day to star on the show and also given a $125 food allowance. We think, after all the drama they’ve provided, they deserved a hell of a lot more!
