Insiders have revealed there “was a lot more” to Madeleine Jevic and Ash Galati‘s exit on Married at First Sight Australia 2024 than what was aired.

During the February 25 Commitment Ceremony, Madeleine opted to “leave” while her husband wrote “stay”, despite a tumultuous first week in the experiment.

As per the rules of MAFS when couples have differing decisions, the duo were tasked with remaining on the show another week to work on their marriage.

However, the February 26 episode saw the couple leave for good, with Ash telling cameras he’d “had a change of heart and they’d come to an amicable decision to leave”.

Madeleine did not feature in the episode at all.

So Dramatic! can also exclusively reveal that Madeleine does not return to the show for the Reunion episodes.

Now, it’s been revealed by Yahoo! Lifestyle that the couple’s abrupt exit came down to “duty of care”.

According to one source, producers “did not want to dramatise it, and felt it was easier to let them go quickly and quietly”.

Madeleine Jevic’s behaviour on Married at First Sight ‘raised quite a few eyebrows’

Apparently, “Madeleine’s erratic behaviour had raised quite a few eyebrows during her first week on the show”.

“No one [was] quite sure if she was acting or it was real,” the insider explained. “After Ash wrote to stay… She point blank said to producers she refused to carry on with the experiment and was going home.

“It’s not uncommon for participants to threaten to quit like this and no one can be held against their will, with producers then tasked with talking them around to continue with the experiment.”

Remember 2023 bride Bronte Schofield? Case in point.

However, the source told the outlet that it was a different story when it came to psychic medium Madeleine.

“It felt easier to let her go as questions about her state of mind with the pressure of the experiment had already been raised by other cast members and crew,” they said.

“ESA producers [Endemol Shine Australia] will never compromise their duty of care for the sake of content or storylines.”

This comes after it was revealed Natalie Parham and Collins Christian were similarly “removed” from the show out of concern for the bride’s mental wellbeing.
