Collins Christian has spoken out about his portrayal on Married at First Sight Australia 2024.

From being called a “clout chaser” to getting slammed for being “performative” towards his on-screen wife Natalie Parham, Collins has copped a lot of heat from fans since his short-lived stint on the dating show.

During his appearance on The Kyle & Jackie O Show on February 14, the executive assistant admitted that he doesn’t blame the audience for calling him fake.

“I’ve taken a beating for coming across as fake, dismissive, not there for the right reasons,” he told co-hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson.

“If I didn’t know who I was and I was watching what the audience saw… I can’t fault what the audience has said [about me].”

The 28-year-old then admitted that he “absolutely sucked at times” during his marriage.

“I wasn’t supporting [Natalie], using my words or being a loving husband,” he said, later confessing he “totally sucked” at the “emotional part” of being in his on-screen marriage.

He then shot back at the clout-chasing allegations, admitting that he’s “not an actor”. But TBH, after watching his poor performances on the show, we didn’t doubt that for a second…

Married at First Sight’s Collins admits to being an ‘ASSHOLE’ to Natalie at the dinner party

During the first dinner party, fans roasted TF out of Collins for caring more about his 15 minutes of fame than his on-screen marriage.

“I was an asshole and a half at the dinner party,” the former TV groom admitted.

“I was really dismissive, and every time Nat was struggling, I was so in the zone of, ‘It’s the dinner party let’s get around it’.”

MAFS‘ Collins says Natalie was struggling with grief and homesickness

Collins revealed that Natalie was struggling with grief and homesickness from the very start.

“Her dad passed away five weeks before our vows,” he said, recalling that his wife was “balling her eyes out” in the bathroom after their wedding.

Producers then pulled him aside and told him Natalie was “really struggling”.

“I thought, is she going to be okay to do this experiment?” Collins added.

Collins then confirmed that Natalie’s mother was also battling cancer during filming and that producers had to fly in her sister every weekend to console her.

“She should’ve been as far away from this brutal reality show as possible,” he confessed upon reflection.

Collins reveals why he returned to the show after initially leaving with Natalie

Collins then explained why he returned to the show after leaving during the first dinner party.

“I got a call from producers. They told me we can’t leave unless we both write ‘leave’ [at the Commitment Ceremony],” he said.

He told producers he was happy to come, but he knew Natalie was “done” with the show. However, she also returned.

“If Natalie didn’t want to come back, I’m very sure she would’ve [told producers],” he continued.

This comes after the pair were allegedly “removed” from the show because Natalie “was in no state” to continue production.
