Turns out Married at First Sight Australia 2024 has just as many editing fails as pending failed relationships!

Since the January 29 premiere, MAFS viewers have quickly chosen fan favourites and villains of the season, and there’s no denying that the editing has a hand in who we love and love to hate.

It’s not just the participants slipping up in their behaviour, however, because we’ve spied a few faux pas from the editors during the 11th season of the marriage experiment.

Jayden Eynaud and Eden Harper’s food continually appearing and disappearing

During the March 18 episode, fans noticed that Jayden Eynaud and Eden Harpers food kept reappearing and disappearing.

Refinery29 took to Instagram to expose this clunky editing, showing the food literally vanishing and then returning mid-convo.

Unless the couple are speedy eaters, we have a feeling this scene has been reshot numerous times.

“They need to stop giving them food because the editing is too obvious,” one person commented, whilst another penned: “Their editing is so dodgy”.

And whoever is in charge of the continuity on MAFS should’ve been fired long ago…

Andrea Thompson’s changing outfit at the Commitment Ceremony

A number of fans took to social media during the March 10 episode of MAFS to point out a glaring error in Andrea Thompson‘s outfit.

“In tonight’s episode Andy is wearing two different dresses!” one eagle-eyed viewer wrote on Facebook.

Another penned: “Did they just show a shot of Andrea wearing a different dress to what she had on the couch?”

Yes, yes they did!

As fans noticed, Andrea was wearing a reddish-brown patterned dress for the majority of the Commitment Ceremony.

However, in another shot, she and Richard Sauerman were wearing different outfits.

The TV bride was in an off-the-shoulder, white floral number while Richard wore a denim shirt, contrary to the grey shirt he had been wearing moments earlier.

The price tag on expert Mel Schilling’s shoe

During the Commitment Ceremony in the February 25 episode of the marriage experiment, eagle-eyed fans noticed a minor wardrobe malfunction.

Upon close inspection, it appeared that expert Mel Schilling had a price tag stuck to the bottom of her shoe.

One eagle-eyed fan took to Twitter to point out this epic editing fail, writing: “Does Mel still have the price tag on the sole of her shoe?”

And she’s not planning on returning those shoes, is she?

The experts wearing the same outfits four weeks later

During the February 19 episode of MAFS, experts Alessandra Rampolla, John Aiken and Mel were chatting about the arrival of returning groom Michael Felix and his new match Stephen Stewart.

However, viewers noticed that the experts were wearing the same outfits they wore in the first episode when they initially matched Michael with runaway groom Simon Flocco.

Fans took to Facebook to point out the flaw, questioning whether these two scenes were filmed on the same day.

“Something doesn’t add up,” one fan wrote. “John says that four weeks later (assume it refers to four weeks after the Bucks and Hens night) they found a new match for Michael.

“Yet here are stills taken from episodes one and 14… Same setting, clothing etc, clearly shot at the same time. So how does this four-week gap work?”

Another viewer chimed in, suggesting that the experts may have had to wear the same outfits for all of their discussions about the matches.

A third added: “They might’ve been told to give a complete rundown of the entire season in that one sitting,” whilst a fourth penned: “This was all likely shot in post. Not everything is shot in sequence.” And this theory holds up!

Timothy Smith’s ever-changing outfit

During the February 12 episode of MAFS, Timothy Smith and wife Lucinda Light had a huge row that led to the 51-year-old groom storming out of their apartment.

However, fans were quick to clock a serious continuity fail, in which Timothy’s outfit changed three times during this scenario.

As he left the apartment, he was seen in jeans and a black t-shirt. Then, when he stormed down the hallway, he was wearing tracksuit bottoms.

Upon Timothy’s return, he was in another outfit — jeans and a grey top.

Come on, people! Get your sh*t together!

Jonothan McCullough calls out fake storyline involving his sister and wife Lauren Dunn

Groom Jonathan McCullough has exposed Married at First Sight 2024 producers for editing the show to appear as though his step-sister, Steph, couldn’t stand his wife Lauren Dunn.

During the couple’s wedding, Steph expressed concerns that the reality bride wasn’t ready to “settle down” and, according to Jonathan, producers “jumped on it”.

“They took facial expressions from one [scene] and put it in another,” he told The Pulse with Seany B & Emma G.

“Lauren would say stuff and Steph would laugh her a*s off, and they made it look like she was really disappointed in how crude Lauren’s humour was or something when she loves it and is probably on the same page with Lauren when it comes to that sort of humour.”

He added that his bride and sister “actually got along really well” and damn those producers!

Lauren Dunn’s photoshopped alcoholic beverage

Fans were a tad shook to see bride Lauren skulling a glass of wine during an interview. However, not everything was as it seemed on the small screen.

In the scene, Lauren appears to drink a greenish beverage while chatting about getting “messy” on a recent trip to Bali.

According to Yahoo! Lifestyle, the bride was actually drinking water, and the liquid had been edited to resemble alcohol to fall in line with her “chaotic” storyline.

A MAFS insider told the outlet: “Alcohol consumption is very closely monitored on reality TV, especially a show like this.

“It’d be highly unlikely they’d have someone drinking during a casual sit-down interview in the day like this, although not entirely impossible.”

Yikes…
