The Block 2023‘s Kristy Beams has addressed claims she blew up at producers after she and her husband Brett Beams‘ house made just $65,000 in profit on auction day.
The November 4 auction (which aired on Channel Nine the following day) was bittersweet for the cast of the 19th season.
At one end, Steph and Gian Ottavio won the show after their house sold for $5 million, including a $1.65 million profit. Kristy and Brett made the smallest profit, while Leah and Ash Milton‘s home has yet to sell at the time of writing.
Fans and contestants alike were shocked at the outcome of House Three’s auction.
Mainly due to the fact that billionaire bidder Adrian Portelli declared Kristy and Brett’s renovation his favourite at the Domain Listings evening mid-season. However, he didn’t bid on their house and according to insiders, Kristy was PISSED.
As reported in episode 326 of the So Dramatic! podcast, one The Block insider said the 34-year-old was “furious” at the auction after-party.
“All the crew and anyone who had anything to do with the show and Channel Nine were there,” they explained. “Kristy was just furious and yelling at the top of her lungs, ‘F*ck you Channel Nine’.
“She was adamant that production had told Adrian not to bid on their property because when their real estate agents went up to him at the auction, he said he was advised not to bid.”

The insider told host Megan Pustetto that while Adrian was advised not to bid on Kristy and Brett’s place, it wasn’t at the request of Channel Nine.
“His PR [team] told him not to bid,” they said.
Apparently, the drama surrounding the couple caused some issues for Adrian “and his business” after his vote.
“There was loads of backlash online and [it was] not good for his business. So he was told to steer well clear of buying House Three and House Two.”
The source added: “He was too scared about the potential backlash from the public because of how Kristy and Brett behaved on the show.”

When contacted for comment about the after-party allegations, Kristy said she could confidently say “F*ck you Channel Nine” didn’t come out of her mouth.
The claims come after another industry insider alleged Adrian backed out of bidding because of House Three’s reputation.
“Adrian revealing this to [fellow bidder] Danny Wallis‘ assistant after House Three’s auction was pretty telling,” they said.
