The Block 2023 finale has delivered high ratings after Steph and Gian Ottavio scored a record-breaking win of $1.75 million.
ICYMI: Back in September, it was reported that The Block lost one-fifth of its viewership due to complaints about poor on-screen behaviour.
But it looks like these ratings have copped a total makeover because, according to MediaWeek, 1.274 million viewers tuned in for the explosive finale, with a total of 1.592 million watching when the winner was announced.
This was a slight decrease from last year’s finale, which pulled in 1.692 million viewers. But for a show that was reportedly in its flop era, we think this is pretty impressive!
This comes after The Block 2023 was slammed for enabling “disturbing behaviour” and “bullying” from contestants.
Many fans complained that there was more backstabbing than renovating, which was believed to have an impact on the show’s ratings.
