Fans of The Block 2023 have revealed they’ve reported the show to the media watchdog for airing continuous, “disturbing” behaviour from specific contestants.

The latest series has been likened to Married at First Sight Australia for its affinity to show more drama than renovating.

However, many viewers have had enough of watching “mean girlsKristy Beams and Leah Milton “bully” their co-stars.

In the September 12 episode of the hit reno show, Kristy admitted to sabotaging Steph Ottavio‘s master bedroom by “get[ting] into her head”.

“I can easily suggest something as a throwaway comment and it will eat her away and I did that,” she told the camera crew.

Taking to The Block fan groups on Facebook, viewers declared that Kristy’s latest “savage” admission was the last straw.

“Too far now with what [Kristy] just had to say,” one user penned. “That’s gaslighting and bullying 100 per cent.”

They also provided a link and urged other fans to “report [the show] to the Australian Communications and Media Authority” (ACMA).

The Block 2023 viewers call out Channel Nine for airing ‘cruel’ antics

Under the original post in “The Block – Charming Street 2023 – Unofficial” fan group, other viewers confirmed that the latest episode was “very nasty”.

“To have someone willingly and knowingly sabotage someone’s mental health is disturbing,” one fan wrote.

“This programme tonight has gone beyond that and has promoted behaviour that is unacceptable. It’s callous. This is not entertaining. It’s damned cruel.”

Another expressed: “It was disgusting and Channel Nine and producers need their arse kicked… Producer and production need sacking for this.”

“Channel Nine are condoning it,” a third wrote. “Need to be held accountable.”

This certainly isn’t the first time the network has been held to account for their broadcast of concerning behaviours.

In 2021, ACMA launched an investigation into whether MAFS breached the Commercial Television Code of Practice after countless viewers reported the show for airing “gaslighting” and “abusive” scenes featuring Bryce Ruthven and Melissa Rawson.

However, the media watchdog found the scenes not to be in breach of ACMA’s broadcasting code.
