Farmer Wants a Wife Australia 2023’s Olivia Benic has revealed the secret pact she had with Farmer Matt whilst filming and buckle up.
For us fans, it was pretty clear from the get-go that Olivia and Matt were destined for each other since their very first date. The pair grew from strength to strength on FWAW, so it was no surprise when the sheep and cattle farmer chose to be with the admin officer in the end.
Now, Olivia has spilled some explosive tea bombshells about the show during her tell-all interview on the So Dramatic! podcast.
Olivia Benic reveals the JUICY unaired conversations she had with Matt on Farmer Wants a Wife
In episode 296, the 24-year-old exposed some of the juicy unaired chats she had with the farmer and this tea is far from lukewarm!
One of their first behind-the-scenes convos occurred around two weeks into filming when the 23-year-old comforted Olivia after he came back from his date with Annabelle.
“Matt and Annabelle got back from their date and I was making dinner,” Olivia told host Megan Pustetto.
“When Chelsea asked: ‘How was the date?’ I tried to listen to Annabelle and I was genuinely happy that she got to go on that date.
“But I didn’t want her to see me upset. So I went to my bedroom after the camera crew had gone home.
“[Later on], Matt came up to me and asked ‘Are you okay?’
“I was like ‘Yep, all good.'”
However, Matt could tell Olivia was wearing her “fake smile” and asked if they could spend some time together to talk it out.
“I was like Matt, we’re not allowed to spend time together off camera,” Olivia recalled.
“And he goes: ‘At this point, I don’t give a sh*t about the cameras.’
“So we went outside and he said ‘I want to know, do you still want to be here?’
“And I said ‘Yeah. Look, this is going to be really tough but I’m not going to walk out on you. I’m here for love,'” she added.
Matt then begged Olivia to stay, telling her she was “the most important person” on his farm. OMG. Surely that was a breach of contract…

Olivia also dished that Matt wanted to pull a Farmer Andrew, and threatened to QUIT the show to be with her!
She revealed that Matt said to her, “If you leave, I’ll leave”, but both eventually decided to stay on the show to “respect the contract”. Now that’s JUICY!
“[I told Matt] ‘Look, I’m not going to walk out, I’ll stay here til the end’,” she confessed.
“I was struggling. He knew that I didn’t want to be here anymore. It was really, really hard”.
However, Olivia clarified that Matt “never outright said” he was going to choose her so she was “still uncertain”.
“I said, ‘If you don’t think [you’re going to choose] me, please don’t lead me on,’ and he said ‘Okay’, she explained.
According to Olivia, producers were keen on avoiding “another walkout” so convinced them to stick it out.
“Because we lost a farmer, [production] said ‘There’s not long to go. You just need to keep yourselves together to get the last three episodes done.’
“They never explicitly said ‘You’re not allowed to leave’, but they said, ‘You should stay til the end, just stay together.'”

And if those unaired conversations weren’t juicy enough, Olivia also exposed ANOTHER secret the couple shared whilst filming.
The Woollongong-based beauty explained that the farmers were told to keep their feelings close to their chest.
“Matt wanted to tell me how he was feeling [during filming] but [the producers] wouldn’t let him,” Olivia dished.
“So he said to me: ‘Don’t tell me on camera that you love me. Don’t tell me because I can’t say it back. And it’s gonna make you look like a dickhead’.
So despite being in love with Matt, Olivia kept her feelings to herself because she didn’t want to get “nothing back”.
Despite all the drama on the farm, you’ll be happy to hear that the pair are still going strong. In fact, they’ve already been talking about kids, so it sounds like things are getting pretty serious!
