Farmer Wants a Wife Australia 2023‘s Lucie has revealed there’s a lot more to her spicy feud with her co-star Maddison than the show let on.

ICYMI: Lucie and Maddison had some serious beef with each other while living on Farmer Andrew‘s farm.

From uncomfortable dinner table antics to an explosive fight at the Country Ball (which eventually caused Lucie to leave the show) tensions only grew between the two ladies ever since they stepped foot on the farm.

Now, the 36-year-old has spilled the behind-the-scenes tea about her rivalry with Maddison in a juicy tell-all interview on the So Dramatic! podcast (episode 294).

Maddison originally signed up for Farmer Wants a Wife 2022

It turns out Maddison has been trying to break in her cowboy boots for a while now, having first applied for FWAW back in 2022.

“[Maddison] applied for last season for Farmer Will,” Lucie told host Megan Pustetto.

Whilst the 30-year-old had her sights set on Will last year, Andrew wasn’t her first pick this season. In fact, she didn’t get to pick at all, because producers recruited her for the show!

“[Producers] called her up and said ‘Oh, do you just want to do this [season] instead?'”, Lucie dished.

And to make matters worse, this tea came straight from Maddison’s mouth!

Supposedly, the 30-year-old is friends with The Bachelor‘s Cat Henesey, and because she had Z-list connections and a restaurant she wanted to promote, she felt FWAW would be a great career move.

“She’s got a restaurant in Brisbane, and she wanted to make her restaurant famous,” Lucie added, sharing that Maddison even “bought a whole new wardrobe” for the show. LOL!

Farmer Wants a Wife’s Lucie shades producers for egging Maddison on at the Country Ball

One of the most ICONIC fights this season went down between Lucie and Maddison at the Country Ball, but fans were left wondering where TF it stemmed from.

“Basically, we were at the Country Ball. And I was just over it. I hadn’t had any time with [Andrew],” Lucie confessed.

After waiting around, she told the other girls that she was going to “ask him for a chat”.

When the crop and sheep farmer finally pulled her over, the pair were stopped by production as the camera crew weren’t ready to film.

“[The producers said] you guys have to come back. You have to wait for the cameras. You know we can’t [film] all of the dates at the same time.”

Lucie explained that she had to wait around for another five hours, and in that time, the girls collectively decided that she’d get the first chat with Andrew once the cameras started rolling.

“We sat there [until] midnight, and then I must have gone to the toilets. But they called Maddison out to fix her mic, which is code for ‘stir sh*t up’,” she explained. “And then they told her to ask him to go for a chat first.

“Apparently, she was like no, Lucie’s going to lose her sh*t. But the producers told her she had to.”

And just like that, Maddison chose violence and stole Andrew away.

Lucie confronted Maddison for being on FWAW for the wrong reasons

At one of the Farewell Dinners, Lucie tried to confront Maddison for applying for the show the previous year.

“When we were at one of the dinners… I’d made a comment about how she’d applied for the show the season before,” Lucie recalled. “I was like ‘Mate, you’re not even here for him, you applied last season.’

“She was like ‘Don’t be nasty.’ But I wasn’t being nasty. It’s just the truth.”

Then when it came to the Country Ball, producers were only interested in Lucie spilling the tea “on camera”.

“When I finally got my chat with [Andrew], they wanted me to talk to him about it. But I haven’t even talked to this guy for a week. And you want me to sit there and talk about someone else?” she said. Yikes.

Lucie reveals that Farmer Andrew wasn’t too keen on Maddison

It turns out, Andrew quickly began to see right through Maddison, with Lucie spilling that she “had absolutely no intention of moving to the farm”.

“She just wasted everybody’s time.”

Lucie then revealed that Andrew cut his single date with Maddison short “because she was just full of it”. The icing on the cake? They didn’t even get dessert. Ouch!

Apparently, the farmer “found out” about Maddison having applied for the past season.

“I don’t know who told him, but it wasn’t me,” Lucie laughed, admitting that she was “too scared” to dob in her co-star.

“Someone told him all about it and he called her out, which they obviously didn’t film or air,” she continued.

“And then [Maddison] cracked the sh*ts for two days and left.”
