Farmer Wants a Wife Australia 2023 fans have shared their confusion about the relationship between Farmer Andrew and Claire after noticing an “odd” detail in their final scene together.

The lovebirds quit the show on April 30 after confessing their feelings for each other. However, viewers thought it was really weird that the pair had zero eye contact during this romantic moment.

Fans took to the comments section of the FWAW Instagram page to express their thoughts.

“I have told my granddaughters that if you’re talking to someone, look at them and make eye contact with them. Not rocket science. But he’s a grown man and he doesn’t look her in the eye,” one viewer commented.

Another fan wrote: “I love Claire. Not sure on the no eye contact though,” whilst a third user said: “Eye contact, girl. You got this!”

Other fans attributed this lack of eye contact to nerves, stating that the pair must’ve felt “shy” and “awkward” in front of the camera.

Farmer Andrew admits that he was nervous when he confessed his feelings to Claire

During an interview with 7Life, the crop and sheep farmer admitted to being nervous during his final scene with the mine truck driver.

However, the 41-year-old said he wasn’t “aware” that they were “avoiding eye contact” at the time.

“From my point of view, I was deep in thought – there’s no doubt about that.

“There [were] probably nerves there, too, but I certainly felt it all went well that evening, and I certainly got the response I was hoping to get,” he shared.

On May 1, the farmer told Woman’s Day that the pair have taken the next steps in their relationship.

The couple now live together on his NSW farm and they’ve even discussed starting a family sometime soon!

“We’re approaching it with the mindset of, ‘Let’s enjoy one another first for a period of time and make memories of our own and if things keep evolving in a positive manner, then that’ll come,'” Andrew told the magazine.

Aww! What they say is true: Farmer Wants a Wife really does work!
