Farmer Wants a Wife Australia 2023‘s Farmer David and Emily have revealed the secret pact they had with their local community after the finale.
After filming had wrapped in December 2022, the couple confessed that the apple farmer’s community in Pozieres, Queensland promised to keep their relationship a secret.
The 26-year-old told 7Life that she was initially “anxious” about her move to the farm.
“I was a little bit anxious [because] I really wanted to find my career and life here,” she said.
“I’m just used to my routine and I knew that was going to change but I was excited to get involved with the community here.”
However, in order to find a career, the couple had to let the community in on their relationship.
“[Moving to the farm] obviously meant that Emily had to be somewhat involved in the community on the work front,” the 29-year-old told 7Life.
“But there’s been a really positive understanding from our local community about what the process is.”
The special education aide chimed in, agreeing that the locals were great at “keeping [the relationship] a bit quiet.”
“Everyone that we’re involved with, or know, that has obviously found out, has been really good about it,” David dished.
“So it’s meant that Emily can feel relaxed going back to work, which made the whole transition smoother for the both of us I think.”
Emily is working full-time at a primary school near David’s farm
Emily revealed that she was working full-time at a primary school near David’s farm.
We got our hands on this intel a while back, as one spy told So Dramatic! that the reality star was “working at Wallangarra State School. Near the border of NSW and QLD.”
However, this isn’t Emily’s only gig, as she’s also teaching night classes at a dance studio.
“I’ve managed to find both my loves out here,” Emily gushed.
“I’ve got my dancing still going and my teaching so I’m extremely happy.”
What happened after David chose Emily in the Farmer Wants a Wife Finale?
After David made his final decision, Emily returned home to Brisbane whilst David continued to work on the farm.
“I got on a plane and flew home to see my family because it was my birthday that week and then also coming on to Christmas,” she said.
“So I went home for a week or so and then after that, I moved [to David’s farm] in early January.”
The couple admitted that there was an “element of change” once they continued their relationship off-screen.
“You’ve fallen for someone in an environment which isn’t 100 per cent natural, I guess,” David explained.
“There are lots of things organised for you and there’s quite a lot of structure to the day, so there was definitely a big element of change once filming was finished.
“And we often said to ourselves that, you know, we’ll have to relearn to love each other in a natural environment.
“I think that process is just as exciting as falling for each other on the show.” Aww!
When asked what the future holds, David confessed that the pair are “really happy” together.
“At the moment we’re really happy and we really found our groove here on the farm.
“So no major announcements yet,” he chuckled.
“We’re just really enjoying what’s been the start of something really special.”
