Farmer Wants a Wife Australia 2023’s Lorelei Bates has admitted that Farmer David ghosted her after she fainted in his arms during the finale.
During the May 14 episode, the marketing coordinator collapsed after the apple farmer rejected her in the tear-jerking finale.
Speaking to Mamamia, the 26-year-old revealed that she’s “had no contact” with the farmer since then.
“He broke the news that it wasn’t me and I fainted. I don’t even remember collapsing,” she said.
“I don’t remember anything I said after that. And from that moment we were pulled apart, I have had no contact with David.”
However, she could understand why she never heard from the 29-year-old again.
“I see it from his point of view, reaching out to the person that could have been the one, in front of [Emily]. Like, how would that make her feel as well?”
“I really wish that he had reached out just to even check in to make sure that I was okay. I just thought he was kind of the guy to do that,” she added.
Lorelei also confessed that she was “heartbroken” in the months leading up to the Finale airing.
“I took a step back from everything, I didn’t want to talk to anybody, I was very heartbroken.
“I met my brother and spent time with him and his friends, [because] they didn’t know what had happened.”

Lorelei said she’d struggled to watch the Farmer Wants a Wife finale, sharing that “the last few days” had been “full of tears”.
She was also upset that the producers included the clip of her fainting.
“I thought maybe the producers, out of the goodness of their hearts, wouldn’t show [me fainting] because I walked away with a broken heart,” she admitted.
“Like, guys, come on, give me something. But I understand it’s good TV. Of course, they’re gonna show it, just at my expense.”
Despite her heartbreak, Lorelei has seen a lot of support from FWAW fans. However, the reception hasn’t been entirely positive.
“A lot of fans have been reaching out to my messenger because I still don’t have access to my Instagram,” she explained.
“It’s been so lovely. They’re like, ‘we feel for you’…. but then you see comments here and there saying, ‘Oh you totally faked it’.”
After bearing her soul, Lorelei gave some sound advice for people considering signing up for the show.
“Stay true to yourself and your personality,” she said.
“I think it’s very easy to get caught up in thinking that it’s a competition when it’s not – it’s someone’s heart they’re putting out there for you to love.”
