Farmer Wants a Wife Australia 2023‘s Lorelei Bates has revealed why she fainted after being rejected by Farmer David during the Finale.
Lorelei and David had a very strong connection on FWAW, leading many fans to believe that he’d choose her in the end. However, Lorelei was just as shocked as us when she got rejected by the apple farmer and literally fainted.
Now, the marketing coordinator has revealed what really went down during the Finale in her exclusive interview on the So Dramatic! podcast (episode 294). And this tea is piping hot, so sip with caution!
Farmer Wants a Wife’s Lorelei Bates addresses THAT fainting scene
When it came to THAT fainting scene, the 26-year-old admitted that her body went into “shock” after being rejected by David.
“I think my body just went into pure shock,” she told host Megan Pustetto.
“My decision time was late in the afternoon. And I was like, ‘Oh my god, maybe it’s me.’
“Maybe they don’t want to film in the dark, surely I’m the last person,” she dished.
However, when it was time to face David, Lorelei’s nerves kicked in.
“I grabbed his hands and said, ‘I’m so scared’.
“And he was like, ‘No, you’ll be okay’.”
“[He was saying] all these really lovely things and [I thought he was choosing me] and then he said he’s falling in love with someone else. And I was like wait, what?”
That was the moment her body gave out on her and she “just dropped”.
“I don’t know how to explain it because I wasn’t expecting it either,” she explained.
“One minute, I was looking at him the next minute I collapsed. And then I was on his shoulder”.
Lorelei confessed that she didn’t remember much after she fainted, stating that it was all “too much” for her. All she could think of was “Oh shit, I’ve just fainted on national TV.”
Lorelei reveals whether she’s spoken to David since filming
Lorelei revealed that David hadn’t contacted her since filming wrapped. Eeek!
“I just thought that maybe after [I fainted], he would’ve reached out and been like, ‘Hey, are you okay?’
“That would’ve provided some sort of closure for me,” she added.
Despite not talking to David, Lorelei has reached out to Emily, as they were besties on the show.
“I sent Em a message and I meant it from my heart. I said ‘[FWAW has been a really great experience because of you and we’ve developed this beautiful friendship,” she added.
“[Emily] sent me a few messages back [seeing] if I’m okay,” she said, however, she wished she received the same decency from David.
Lorelei also expressed that she found it difficult to move on because David never explained why he chose Emily over her.
“Was there something that was so different about us? Or was it a moment that they had?” Aww, we really feel for Lorelei.
Is Lorelei currently dating anyone?
After her whirlwind experience on FWAW, Lorelei has decided to tap out of the dating game…for now.
“I’m gonna take a solid break from dating,” she laughed, stating that she had a “lot of healing to do.”
“My heart was literally broken from [FWAW] and I’ve never felt that kind of pain before,” she added.
However, not all hope is lost!
Lorelei said she’d consider dating if “the right person came along”, however, there isn’t “space” for someone to enter her life just now.
And girl, no pressure. Getting your heart broken is no easy feat, especially on national TV!
