Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Bronte Schofield has revealed she’s no longer friends with co-star Claire Nomarhas following a controversial podcast appearance.

It’s no secret that there have been more great friendships to bloom out of MAFS than actual romantic relationships, with Bronte and Claire sticking by each other’s side throughout their rollercoaster marriages.

Chatting to So Dramatic! in part five of her tell-all, Bronte detailed how she “considered [Claire] one of [her] really great friends”.

“I trusted her and she trusted me,” she told host Megan Pustetto in episode 288.

However, the 28-year-old realised they may not be as close as she initially thought after learning Claire “said some very hurtful things” about her on the Where’s Your Head At? podcast after the show wrapped.

“She’s entitled to her opinion, but the most hurtful thing for me, I guess, when it does come to this whole me and Claire thing, I don’t want to speak a bad word about her,” Bronte explained.

“I wasn’t aware that we weren’t friends up until listening to that.”

What did Married at First Sight‘s Claire Nomarhas say about Bronte Schofield?

In the episode of Where’s Your Head At? that dropped on March 21, hosts Anna McEvoy and Matt Zukowski questioned Claire about Bronte’s MAFS experience.

After Matt asked whether Bronte is as “bad” IRL as she comes across on the show, Claire said she “struggle[s] with the relationship that [she has]” with her fellow bride.

“During MAFS, I connected with Bronte a lot,” the Melburnian said. “She’s strong, she’s sassy, she’s funny, we get along.”

Noting that Bronte “supported” her during her cheating scandal with Adam Seed, things took a turn when the show started airing.

“I struggle because know Bronte is not a stupid girl, I know that she’s smart,” Claire said. “Watching [the show], you are either fake as sh*t, or you are either dumb as sh*t. Which one?

“And that is the battle that I’m having because I love her and I wanna be friends with her. But watching that, I’m just like, ‘How can I stay true to my values and my morals… How can I be friends with somebody I may not necessarily fully trust?'”

Bronte Schofield reveals she contacted Claire Nomarhas after Where’s Your Head At? podcast

In episode 288 of the So Dramatic! podcast, Bronte said she found out Claire “had this issue with [her] via social media”.

“And the context is because of what she’s watching back on a TV show that we filmed together, Like, you were there,” Bronte expressed. “If that’s the narrative Claire wants to run with, then that’s fine.

“But I just thought we were closer than that, and I’m actually really hurt by the things that were said.”

The Western Australian then revealed she contacted Claire after hearing the podcast because she’s “the type” to “be upfront and be honest about [her] feelings”.

So Dramatic! has since obtained the message Bronte sent to Claire, in which she detailed her “disappointment” in her friend’s commentary.

“Hey babe, I just wanted to reach out and say I’ve listened to the ‘Where’s Your Head At‘ podcast,” she began.

“I’m actually extremely upset by the things that were said about me, I am not going to go into it but ‘either dumb as sh*t or fake as sh*t’ is beyond hurtful.”

Bronte Schofield says she’s ‘disappointed’ in former friend Claire Nomarhas

Explaining that she “went through hell” both during and after the experiment and although she isn’t “blaming anyone”, Bronte told Claire she has “never spoken one bad word about” her.

“I won’t ever because I know what you went through in there too. Whether or not you agree with mine and Harrison’s narrative, it was that, a narrative, we were on a TV show that’s highly manipulated.”

She added: “I thought you of all people would understand given yours and Jesse [Burford’s] ‘romance’.

“I am over explaining myself to the public, I didn’t think I would have to think twice about explaining myself to people who lived it with me. I am so disappointed.”

Bronte concluded her message by wishing Claire “good luck with the future”.

“I wish you nothing but success.”

Bronte Schofield has not heard from Claire Nomarhas

Bronte told host Megan that Claire did not respond to her message about the Where’s Your Head At? podcast.

As such, Lyndall Grace got in touch with the early childhood educator to ask “What’s going on”.

“Apparently, Claire was saying that she was in a bad place,” Bronte recalled. As such, she “actually messaged her again”.

“I was like, ‘Please, no, I still have love for you… This wasn’t the end of your friendship for me, I just needed to get it out there’,” she reportedly wrote. “‘I’m always here if you need me no matter what’.

“And she still didn’t reply.” Yikes. Talk about being ghosted!
