MAFS’ Davina Rankin confirms split from husband Jaxon Manuel and our hearts are breaking for them

Married at First Sight Australia 2018’s Davina Rankin sadly confirmed her split from her husband Jaxon Manuel after just one year of marraige.

On May 2, the 31-year-old influencer shared the news on her Instagram Story.

“Relationships are hard,” she wrote.

“Given the recent speculation, I feel like I need to confirm that Jax and I have separated.

“I will at some point discuss this further, but my current focus is learning to navigate my new normal while providing a seamless and loving transition into co-parenting our daughter.”

Well, it’s official. We don’t believe in love anymore.

The couple initially met before the reality star’s stint on MAFS, but their romance blossomed after her season had finished airing.

Shortly after they rekindled, they welcomed their daughter Mila-Mae Manuel in 2o19 and tied the knot in April 2022.

“I still can’t even put into words how surreal this feels. I’m officially married to my best friend!

“To have been able to share this moment with our favourite people just fills our hearts with an abundance of joy, love and happiness,” the author posted to Instagram after her wedding.

Davina addresses rumours that she’d split from Jaxon

Rumours of the pair’s split started circling last year, as the wellness coach hadn’t posted any photos of her husband since August 2022.

As well as the lack of hubby content, speculation began after the former TV villain reflected on 2022 as the year that she stopped “people pleasing” and became “in touch” with her “intuition”.

“2022 has been the biggest year of spiritual and mental growth for me and for the first time in my life I can finally hear the whispers of my heart,” Davina wrote to Instagram.

“I’m in touch with my intuition and I’ve stopped people pleasing and I’m tackling my fear of judgement head-on. This year I grew into something I could have never imagined… MYSELF,” she added.

However, on January 27, Davina told So Dramatic! that she was  “definitely still married”.

“We are definitely still married,” Davina explained in our DMs, along with a laughing emoji. 

“Although I should probably post more photos of him haha,” she added.

Davina was involved in Married at First Sight‘s first-ever cheating scandal

Davina is somewhat of a MAFS icon being the show’s first-ever “villain”. She was involved in the franchise’s first-ever cheating scandal. In other words, she walked so Claire Nomarhas and Adam Seed could run.

On the show’s fifth season, the former TV bride engaged in a secret affair with co-star Dean Wells, despite both of them being ‘married’ to their respective partners Ryan Gallagher and Tracey Jewel.

In the season’s most explosive moment, the pair snuck off from the Dinner Party to spend some one-on-one time together.

“I want to kiss you so bad,” Davina told the 39-year-old in private, while Dean told cameras that there was a “fire in the belly with Davina that [he hasn’t] had with Tracey”.

Ultimately, the affair backfired when the villains agreed to leave their respective partners — until Dean got cold feet and chose to stay with Tracey. Ouch!

Davina then left the experiment and reconnected with Jaxon after her on-screen hubby refused to take her back.
