Liz Ellis revealed the real reason Kerri-Anne Kennerley quit I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! Australia 2023 and honestly, it’s what we expected.
On May 2, the I’m A Celeb winner told news.com.au that the TV presenter didn’t realise how hard life in the jungle would be.
“I’ve known her for a long time, I had a couple of long chats with her, and I’m just not sure that she understood exactly what was required of her,” the former netballer explained.
“As she started to figure out that she had to take part in these trials for us to get fed, she realised that if she didn’t do it, she’d have to leave.”
So yes, being a diva is the real reason the 66-year-old quit the show. But TBH, we’d leave for the exact same reason.
“I was sad to see Kerri-Anne go because she’s a really fun personality, but at the end of the day, we’re all competing for food,” the 50-year-old laughed.
“At one of the trials, she just pulled the pin straight away, and then at the second trial, it all went a bit pear-shaped.
“When she left, it was good for her and it was probably good for us, too,” she added.
Domenica Calarco calls Kerri-Anne Kennerley a c*nt
Kerri-Anne’s dramatic exit from I’m A Celebrity came after her co-star Domenica Calarco called her a c*nt during an unaired argument.
The makeup artist told news.com.au that she acted “in the heat of the moment,” admitting that she’d already apologised to her co-star for her “language”.
“I have apologised for my language. It was unbecoming.”
“I wouldn’t use that language again, now that I’m fed,” the 30-year-old confessed. “But in the heat of the moment, I was struggling mentally.
“The sleep deprivation, the food deprivation, it gets to you. So for me, it was a culmination of all of that.
“I’m not proud of the language, but I stand by how I felt. And I still feel that [way].”
