Former Life Uncut listeners have taken to Apple Podcasts to share their opinions on Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne‘s “slut shaming”of Abbie Chatfield, leaving a number of scathing reviews.

ICYMI (however, not sure how you did): On December 13, Abbie blasted the radio host Kyle Sandilands and current co-host Brittany for offensive comments they made about her on The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

Brittany apologised for her “misogynistic tone” but soon after, Laura took to Instagram to fan the flames by criticising Abbie for hosting the upcoming reality show FBoy Island.

Former Life Uncut fans have flocked to Apple Podcasts to give their honest thoughts about the drama

Countless one-star reviews have flooded Laura and Brittany’s official podcast page. Many suggested their complaints were being blocked or censored on other social media platforms.

“The mantra of these women is ‘I shall not be accountable or criticised or questioned.’ Talk about poor role models to any young women who look up to them,” one listener wrote.

“The fact that you guys are just removing comments on social media to try and further cover-up/minimise Brittany’s actions is laughable. You’re just as bad for defending her, Laura. Unfollowing,” another fan wrote.

Listeners slammed Brittany for working with the “misogynistic” shock jock and going against the feminist ideals they frequently discussed on Life Uncut.

“Brittany, and I suppose by association, Laura and Life Uncut, choosing to align with and work with Kyle Sandilands left me confused, surprised and disappointed.,” one listener said.

“That a female-driven podcast host who claims to triumph feminism would align with such a vile and dangerous misogynist,.”

Another listener wrote: “You’ve completely downgraded by being on a radio show with Kyle Sandilands. He is a sexist derogatory man who gets off on humiliating people. Isn’t that against everything you stand for??”

A number of listeners took aim at Brittany for calling Kyle a “cuddly teddy bear.” And tbh, that’s a fair criticism.

Other listeners expressed that they’ve been “turned off the podcast for a while” now but the recent slut-shaming debacle “cemented” their concerns.

Fans even went as far as to say that they “will never be listening again.”

“Before this past week, my main gripe was that the girls are just terrible interviewers… However, the past week has been an embarrassment to the podcast,” one person said.

“How do you expect us to listen to a podcast that gives advice to women when you’re all out there publicly bickering… It’s pathetic. Sort yourselves out for goodness sake, you’re adults. You should have matured past this.”

Another listener weighed in saying: “The recent events with Abbie Chatfield are even more disappointing. The apology felt disingenuous and Laura’s contribution felt like digging a deeper hole in the name of defending her friend, whose actions should not be defended and instead should be held accountable by friends, especially ones who claim to uphold feminist values.

“It has made me completely reassess wanting to listen to the podcast or champion the Life Uncut brand.”

Others even went as far as to say that Brittany should be “cancelled” because they’ve “seen your true colours now.”

Other reviews had scathing titles like “was cool back in 2020, now ugh”, “OG listener but have had enough of Britt“, “performative activism/feminism” and “delete deny delete”.

The latter comment refers to the numerous complaints that many comments have been deleted from their Instagram and the Life Uncut Facebook group.

Other former listeners have told So Dramatic! that they had been blocked by the two women and Laura’s husband Matty J Johnson. Yikes!

One listener bid farwell to the podcast hosts, saying: “Blaming and shaming Abbie when it was 100% the fault of Kyle and Britt is actually baffling.” Adding: “Good luck girls, I think you’re going to need it.”
