The Block Australia 2022’s fans have taken to Twitter to share their outrage that Sharon Johal and Ankur Dogra won the Ford challenge prize worth $80,000, despite being in significant debt.
During the October 6 episode, the Blockheads competed in a clay sculpting challenge, creating an art piece inspired by the 2023 Ford Everest.
The winner of the challenge would drive away in the vehicle, which is worth $80,000.
However, viewers didn’t get to see Ankur and Sharon looking shocked or excited about the “biggest ever challenge prize in The Block’s history” until right before the winner was revealed.
Sharon later admitted that she doesn’t currently own a car, so it would be “really amazing” to win.
Meanwhile, Sarah-Jane Wilson described the prize as life-changing and Rachel Carr pointed out that it was only $20,000 away from The Block‘s winning prize money of $100,000.
However, Sharon was brought to tears when the final winner was revealed, exclaiming: “No way!”

Despite their excitement over the win, The Block fans weren’t happy.
Fans on Twitter felt it was “unfair” that Sharon and Ankur were awarded the hugely expensive car despite needing to be “cut off” because they were “tens of thousands in the red” on The Block.
Others were just baffled at how Ankur — who works as an accountant — lost track of their finances and allowed their expenditure to get that bad.
Even Sharon admitted that they had considered selling the Everest to put towards finishing the house.
“We’re so passionate and invested in this house. But I’d never do that to Ford,” Sharon said.
