The Block 2022 is now facing claims of theft, with on-set sources revealing contestants were “ripped off” by their tradesmen during the show.
The 18th season of the hit renovation series has been bogged down by scandal after scandal, from “cheating” contestants to claims of inadequate site conditions.
Now, as revealed in episode 215 of the So Dramatic! podcast, another scandal is yet to emerge, this time involving Sharon Johal, Ankur Dogra and their builders.
“Sharon and Anur were getting ripped off by their builders throughout the whole show,” the insider dished.
“They f*cked them over big time, ripped them off, and stole stuff from them.”
Apparently, things become so hostile that the House Three duo “had to go to production for help”.
What’s more, is that their tradies “let them down right at the end” by not completing the couple’s build.
“It will all come out on the show.” Yikes!
The heated scenes on-site saw Sharon and Ankur to walk away from the series mid-shoot, which was played up dramatically when the show went to air.
However, sources have since revealed that despite the final edit, they weren’t the only team to threaten to ditch The Block.
Sources Claim Several Teams Attempted to Leave The Block
According to an insider from The Block, multiple teams voiced their unhappiness during filming.
“Yes, Sharon and Ankur wanted to leave, and producers begged them to stay multiple times,” the source dished, adding: “But everyone wanted to leave at some point. All of the contestants were saying it.”
Even though there was discourse amongst the cast, only the former Neighbours star and her husband were called out for it.
“When Sharon said it, Scott Cam called her ungrateful and made it into a big thing when it wasn’t like that. Everyone had breakdowns, cried, and threatened to walk off and leave the show.”
According to the So Dramatic! spy, Jenny Heath broke down “multiple times,” especially when foreman Keith Schleiger and builder Dan Reilly shut down their build multiple times.
“She spat the dummy big time about that,” the insider revealed. “But they’re not showing everyone else threatening to because they can’t have the whole cast wanting to walk off.
“It would look bad for the show.”
