The Block Australia 2022’s wallpaper guy, Damian Corney, has taken to Instagram to clarify why he couldn’t fulfill Sharon Johal and Ankur Dogra’s order.

During the August 5 episode of the hit show, the owner of Grafico Walls had to make the tough decision to forgo putting wallpaper in their bedroom after they failed to make a decision.

The Blockheads were less than impressed; however, according to Damian, when “contestants are slow to make decisions or don’t answer our calls”, his job is much harder.

“Designing any project in 24 hours is difficult for any seasoned designer,” he said. “Let alone when you have to design, print and install three other houses, all with the same deadline, all with the same custom designs required.”

Damien then added that he spoke with Sharon and Ankur several times as the “brief was not clear via text message” before revealing that a “phone call never eventuated” to rectify the issues.

According to the seasoned design guru, they were unable to comply within the timeframe, so they could not “commit” to the wallpaper.

“This is the first time in over eight seasons of The Block that we had to make this decision,” he added.

While it looks like the contestants on the show are the only ones burning the candle at both ends, Damian assured his followers that all of the crew worked extremely hard during filming.

“I’m always available to contestants for design advice to make their walls amazing!” he said.

Sharon Johal and Ankur Dogra are Having a Tough Time on The Block

Having the largest house alone is trying for the inexperienced Sharon and Ankur, and getting the so-called “villain” edit has made their run less than smooth sailing.

As reported in episode 211 of the So Dramatic! podcast, a source has revealed that the former Neighbours star (and her husband were punished for questioning production.

“Sharon is media savvy, so when things occurred that wasn’t above board or didn’t seem right, she would question it with producers,” the insider said.

In addition to this (and contrary to the episodes thus far), the couple has also been “the hardest-working onsite, pulling the most all-nighters”.
