There’s been a growing mountain of speculation as to why Jessika Power was dropped from The Challenge Australia. However, an expert on the show has revealed that the reason isn’t as scandalous as we think.

The Married at First Sight bride-turned-global TV sensation was slated to compete in the star-studded reality show, that will see contestants go head-to-head in several gruelling challenges.

However, reality fans were knocked for a six after reports circulated that she’d withdrawn herself from the series just days before filming was set to take place.

The serial reality star vehemently denied quitting The Challenge Australia, despite some suggesting that she walked to avoid facing her MAFS rival Cyrell Paule on screen again.

Now, as reported in episode 206 of the So Dramatic! podcast, a die-hard The Challenge fan has weighed in on the not-so-hectic reason Jessika was booted from the show.

According to GamerVev, who describes herself as a “Challenge insider” on Instagram, the TV bride’s dumping probs didn’t have anything to do with her character.

In fact, they dished that last-minute dumpings are very common when it comes to the famed series.

GamerVev, an expert on The Challenge, said it’s not uncommon for contestants to be dumped days before filming. Source: Instagram.

“Expect more people to be dropped,” they told So Dramatic!. “They always drop people days before [filming].”

They also said that it’s not just the reality TV pool they’re fishing for contestants in.

Producers are reportedly casting athletes and social media stars too — basically anybody in Australia with a yuge social following.

What Did Jessika Power Say About Departing The Challenge Australia?

Taking to her Instagram Story on July 28, Jessika reiterated that it wasn’t her decision to depart the series.

“I had my contract signed, bags packed, everything ready and received a message from my manager stating that the American executives had made a creative decision to not include me on the show despite believing I am ‘good talent’,” Jessika penned.

In a subsequent post, she said she’d already completed her medical and background checks and had her “leave date” when she was dropped from The Challenge.

“Everything ahead come back clear and everyone was happy,” she wrote. “But sometimes in tv these ‘creative decisions’ happen and that’s okay because it’s always an honor to even be considered let alone film a new television show. [sic].”
