Producers on Married at First Sight Australia 2023 have approached queer social media star Lacey Jade Christie to appear in the next season.

While So Dramatic! already revealed that the producers were actively looking for people of colour to star on the show, they’ve also been reaching out to LGBTQ+ content creators in Sydney.

“I was approached to be on MAFS,” Lacey revealed on her official account, laceyjadechristie, before explaining what Married at First Sight was for her international followers.

“At least that’s what I’ve heard because I’ve never really watched it,” she admitted.

When the casting call opened a while back, Lacey applied because “Why not? We need more fat and queer representation on TV”.

“I did the application literally in a dress, no bra, no make-up no nothing and I was like, ‘hi!’. I submitted it and forgot about it.”

A few weeks ago, producers called Lacey asking if she was still interested and that they’d “love to interview” her.

The social media personality then partook in the interview, revealing that the process was “a f*cking lot”.

Apparently, producers asked her what she was looking for in a partner, why her relationships fail and what have been her best and worst relos.

“Could I really be on MAFS though?” she asked.

Will Lacey Jade Christie Appear on Married at First Sight Australia 2023?

Thankfully for her, a TikTok commenter urged Lacey to check out Google and see some of the cast feedback before saying yes.

“It seems to be one of the most ‘abusive’ shows to its contestants”, they said.

“I just want to assure all of you that I’m not going on MAFS,” she revealed. “First of all, I didn’t make the cut.”

Lacey then called it a “blessing in disguise” (LOL), because while being “open to any opportunity” she would “listen to her gut” later.

“Even if I did get offered the opportunity, I’m not sure I would have taken it because I see the criticism and scrutiny that a lot of people go through.”

More people like her and less thirsty wannabe influencers, please and thank you!
