Several Big Brother Australia housemates are in big “trouble” with production for breaking the show’s strict social media rules before the live finale.
“They were all having a laugh, then Dave said, ‘Guys! I just got a message! We’re not meant to be doing [Instagram] lives’,” recalled one r/BBAU user.
The user continued: “Then they all said ‘oh no’, I think I heard Reggie say ‘we’re going to get in trouble’… I must say, that six minutes was better than any of the actual show so far lol. [sic]”
Big Brother Australia Contestants Have Been Forced to Delete Several Social Media Posts
This all went down just days after the climax of Tim and Estelle’s Twitter feud, so it is no surprise production started to crack down on the housemates’ social media use.
One Reddit user pointed out that all the particularly juicy tweets from the Big Brother cast were also quickly taken down, perhaps under the instruction of the production team.
A third recalled Tully Smyth revealing she wasn’t allowed to have any of the Big Brother housemates on her podcast until the season finale aired.
“I’m assuming there’s some sort of blanket ban on candid conversations between housemates while the series is airing. Probably to try and stop leaks or give away too much info,” the user said.
However, one fan pointed out that Jaycee Edwards did an Instagram live with Lulu Oliveira when she was evicted with no issues, but another suggested it may have been because they were of “little interest”, as they hadn’t received a lot of screen time.
