Selin Mengu’s portrayal on Married at First Sight Australia 2022 has been less than flattering and now her behaviour has been torn to shreds by the show’s three experts.
During episode 10 of the hit series, Selin and her TV husband Anthony Cincotta faced John Aiken, Alessandra Ambrosio and Mel Schilling on the couch.
After Mel revealed that they were “concerned” by what they were seeing, Anthony told her that Selin’s behaviour had left him feeling, “ya know, a little sh*t”.
After “showing a little bit of vulnerability”, Selin had told her groom: “Oh you’re going to have another boo hoo.”
“So, she keeps saying that over and over again. ‘Are you going to have a cry, princess’ or ‘how are you doing princess or whatever. It made me feel, sort of disrespected,” he added.
How Did the Experts Tell Off Selin Mengu During the Married at First Sight Australia Commitment Ceremony?
After Anthony finished sharing the details of their argument, Selin — who clearly has no remorse for her actions — smirked. And that’s when the experts went to town.
“That’s not funny,” Mel said looking horrified. “It’s really demeaning.
“I know I shouldn’t have used the word princess in the real world,” Selin said, before Mel stopped her and said: “Well, this is the real world and I guess when you say things like that, he feels like you’re making fun of him.”
“It’s kind of demeaning and puts him down and he’s showing vulnerability which is one of the most courageous things you can do in a relationship. He’s stepping up and doing that. And you’re putting him down each time he does it.” YOU GO, GLEN COCO!
Unfortunately, Selin didn’t “see it like that” and put it down to being a “joke”. *Eye roll*.
“I know that ‘princess’ is a bit too far for him,” Selin continued, before John stepped in and said: “Not just too far for him. You’re calling a partner a ‘princess’, you’re really looking down at them!”
Selin agreed that she wasn’t showing any empathy (DAH!) before John brought up the dinner party — ya know the one, where Selin threw Anthony under the ol’ big bus.
“What happened was, you teamed up with a number of other women and then you proceeded to air the dirty laundry all night and it became just a trash fest!
“Here’s my man, here’s how he doesn’t measure up. This is an embarrassment to me,” he continued.
“It showed disrespect, and it was condescending and by the time Anthony walked into that dinner party, he was a marked man. He got lined up in the crosshairs and several other brides went after him.”
Mel then told Selin off for having “a lack of respect” and honestly, we’re cheering!
Surprisingly and “in the spirit of growing”, Anthony and Selin both decided to “stay” in the experiment — meaning we have to endure this sh*t for one more week.

Selin wasn’t the only person told off on the couch during Sunday’s episode.
When Domenica Calarco and Jack Millar took their turn on the couch, the chat turned to intimacy and periods.
Domenica — who was horny, OK?! — wanted to have sex while she was menstruating, while Jack, not so much.
Revealing that he didn’t have an urge to rip his wife’s clothes off “all the time”, Domenica told the experts that she was “a woman, who bleeds monthly.”
“I’m menstruating and I was horny!” she said.
Hearing the words “menstruating”, “bleeds” and “horny”, Cody Bromley, Mitch Eynaud and Al Perkins reacted like this:
“it’s interesting that a lot of the men look very uncomfortable,” Alessandra noted. “We’re not in grade school, you guys!”
With this calibre of men, it totally feels like we are! All hail the experts!
