Married at First Sight Australia 2022’s Anthony Cincotta has been left relatively unscathed compared to his on-screen wife Selin Mengu, however, a former flame has revealed his “toxic” past.
As reported in episode 147 of the So Dramatic! podcast, host Megan Pustetto revealed that the TV partnership isn’t the first time Anthony has been in a relationship of this nature.
A Source Close to His Former Partner Revealed What Anthony Is Like In Relationships
According to a source close to one of Anthony’s ex-partners, the pair were in a “very bad relationship”.A
“They were together for a few years and it was an extremely toxic relationship,” they said. “He was a very volatile person. He had a very bad temper and there were a lot of red flags from the get-go.”
The So Dramatic! source also revealed that his ex would “not be coping” with have to watch him on TV, in particular, when he is arguing with Selin.
“It would be bringing up a lot of trauma for her I can imagine,” they added. “I think he’s also dated other women who have had similar experiences.”
Selin Mengu Has Taken the Bad Edit for the Relationship
Married at First Sight Australia 2022 bride Selin Mengu has caused a stir online after freezing out her TV husband Anthony during the marriage experiment.
Since her blind nuptials, the mother-of-one has faced criticism en masse for her treatment of Anthony. Fans of MAFS have watched on as Selin repeatedly put down her TV groom for his vulnerable nature, dubbing him a “princess”
However, things reached boiling point during Wednesday night’s episode when Selin refused to watch Anthony’s audition tape as part of Confessions Week. Instead, she sat engrossed in her phone before huffing, “Is that it?” once the clip was over.
While these two single parents seemed like a perfect match at their wedding, the façade quickly crumbled before us onscreen.
At the time, we saw Anthony give his all to Selin, while fans turned on the mum-of-one for seemingly not wanting a bar of her “gentlemanly” hubby.
However, as reported in episode 147 of the So Dramatic! podcast, quite a bit has been left on the cutting room floor!
Another source revealed to So Dramatic!: “Something went down on the wedding night and he crossed a lot of her boundaries. That’s why she felt uncomfortable to be around him after that.”
They also added that Anthony “has a bad temper” and soon turned “manipulative and controlling” after “love bombing” his bride.
