Domenica Calarco has shared her reasons behind wanting to be intimate with her Married at First Sight Australia husband Jack Millar whilst she was on her period.
During episode eight of MAFS which aired on Wednesday 9th February, Domenica shared her frustrations with husband Jack about their lack of intimacy and his lack of awareness or response to her signals.
“I would like to have sex with you! Is it that hard?”, she questioned him.
The feisty Italian also revealed that she thought he might be scared of getting intimate because she had mentioned she was on her period.
The whole situation resulted in mixed opinions from viewers with some claiming that she was pressuring Jack into having sex.
Married at First Sight Australia Star Domenica Calarco Explains Why Period Sex is Not A Big Deal
In an interview with Danny Lakey and Maz Compton on the Hit NSW Breakfast with Maz & Lakey, she defended her actions on the show.
“I’m allowed to be a horny female and I don’t think, you know, wanting to have sex with someone I’m into and considering he’s into me as well, why is that such a big thing?” she asked.
“We are both consenting adults.”
Speaking about the topic of getting intimate while menstruating she explained:
“It’s definitely confronting, and I think I am very intense, but if men educated themselves just a tiny bit, they would understand that there is actually a percentage of women when they are menstruating that get extra horny.”
Domenica Calarco Of Married At First Sight Australia Speaks Up About The Topic of Period Sex Being Considered Taboo
When asked by 9Entertainment how she felt about speaking about a topic that some people consider taboo she said: “Well, honestly, I am actually so proud to say that [the conversation] was on MAFS.
“I truly, when I was speaking about it, when we were filming, I didn’t think twice about it.”
“For me, I’ve always just been very open like that and spoke about, not only my sexuality and all that kind of stuff, but for me having a period and having a menstrual cycle is just normal. Every female goes through it.”
Towards the end of the MAFS episode, Domenica reveals to the camera that they were intimate and able to get past Jack’s hesitations after they had an open and honest discussion about it.
It’s great to see these topics that have these stigmas attached to them being discussed openly and honestly on national TV!
