Fans have come up with a wild conspiracy theory about Married at First Sight Australia 2023.

The tenth season of the marriage experiment is well underway with filming in Sydney, and Channel Nine has already given a glimpse of the upcoming instalment at their annual “Upfronts” event on September 14.

The teaser trailer featured five newlyweds, including expert-appointed duo Jesse Burford and Claire Nomarhas.

While some fans were unable to tear their eyes away from the Perth groom’s blinding pink suit, others were quick to point out the couple’s striking resemblance to another MAFS couple: Michael Brunelli and Martha Kalifatidis. Conspiracy? Coincidence?

“Is it just me or do they literally look like Michael and Martha 2.0?” one user penned on Twitter.

During their 2019 TV wedding, Michael styled his then-long hair in a man bun, akin to Jesse’s own half-up do.

Meanwhile, viewers likened Claire’s hair and facial structure to Martha, who similarly sported loose, face-framing curls at her nuptials.

“He looks so much like Michael before he cut his hair it’s crazy. She kinda looks like Martha, but a bit of Carolina [Santos] too,” another fan wrote.

Why Do Fans Think Producers Have Cast Lookalikes On Married at First Sight Australia 2023?

A number of fans predicted that Married at First Sight producers have cast participants who look similar to past stars as a way to emulate the success of previous seasons.

“Just wait, the next couples will be a clucky redhead getting married to an average Joe,” someone suggested in reference to Jules Robinson and Cam Merchant.

The couple, who also appeared on the show in 2019, have since wed for real and share a son, Oliver.

Meanwhile, Michael and Martha are engaged and recently revealed that they are expecting their first child in 2023.

In the trailer for Married at First Sight 2023, Jesse — a wedding celebrant and musician — broke down in tears while reading his vows.

“Believe me when I say this is the best point in time for someone to be snatching me up,” he said.

“I don’t know where love has been hiding all these years… And I don’t know what more I can do to make my light any easier for love to find, because I swear I’m shining so brightly.”

Claire, an early childhood educator from Melbourne, responded: “F*ck yeah, you are.”

Makeup artist and TikTok star Janelle Han was also visible in Nine’s taster for Married at First Sight 2023.

The online sensation, who helms over 508,000 followers on the video-sharing app, was also joined by Noosa-based chippy Harrison Boon and Queenslander Melinda Willis.
