Harrison Boon may have been cast in Married at First Sight 2023, but it turns out the marriage experiment wasn’t his first choice of dating show.
After several MAFS 2023 participants have already been revealed, So Dramatic! can exclusively dish that the 32-year-old The Bachelor reject will don a wedding band come the new year.
Yup, as reported in episode 209 of the So Dramatic! podcast, a source close to Harrison said that he was supposed to be the lead suitor on Channel Ten’s dying beloved franchise.
However, he was canned “at the last minute”.
“Harrison was cast for The Bachelor this year, but they said he was too masculine, so was dropped at the last minute,” the insider said. Huh? Is that even a thing?
The source added that producers suggested, “he would be good for MAFS“. As such, they “put him forward” for the show.
Aw, how sweet that the rivalling networks are helping each other out!
Harrison Boon was cast on Brooke Blurton’s season of The Bachelorette
Not only was Harrison cast as The Bachelor, he was also cast as a contestant on Brooke Blurton’s season of The Bachelorette in 2021.
However, according to our insider, he pulled out once he discovered it was Brooke’s roses he would be vying for.
“He turned it down because he thought she wasn’t hot,” the source admitted. His words, definitely not ours! Brooke is HOT AF! Something tells us Harrison wouldn’t be her type either…
They added: “He also said that he was in the producer’s minds for reality TV opportunities and only wants followers. He’s very up himself but should make for entertaining TV.”
What Else Do We Know About Married at First Sight 2023‘s Harrison Boon?
As revealed by So Dramatic! host Megan Pustetto, Harrison is a father to a three-year-old son.
Hailing from Sydney, the TV groom now lives in Noosa and works as a construction worker, a fry cry from his former job as a male stripper. (Side note: construction worker by day, stripper by night sounds oddly familiar to the plot of Magic Mike…).
Harrison also has a photography business on the side, which could totally come in handy with his endeavours to become an influencer!
It seems he’s already on track to get a blue tick, with his profile listed on Ninja Outreach, a website that “streamlines your influencer marketing”.

In December 2022, it was unveiled that a doozy drama rocked the 10th season of MAFS after bride Bronte Schofield‘s maid of honour (and Bachie contestant) Jessica Tomlinson recognised Harrison as her co-star’s bae.
The debacle was hinted at in a teaser trailer for the upcoming series, with Jessica pulling Bronte aside ON HER WEDDING DAY to spill the tea.
So Dramatic! also exclusively revealed that The Bachelors suitor in question was seeing Harrison until he left to film the show.
Sliding into our DMs, a source close to the contestant said she’d been “seeing him” for several weeks in the lead-up to his wedding.
“She saw him the day he left to go on the show,” the source explained.
Harrison originally said “he would message her and try and see her on weekends off” during filming. However, the father of one quickly “got scared”.
“I think producers might have scared him saying you can not talk to anyone,” the insider continued.
