Channel Nine is reportedly concerned that Married at First Sight 2025 could be “the last season” of the marriage experiment, thanks to the poorly-behaved cast.
In a tale as old as time, the producers of the hit dating show have been struggling to control the unruly cast of the upcoming season, who are tipped to be some of the most chaotic participants to date.
However, one production insider told Yahoo Lifestyle that the next series “could easily be the last season of Married At First Sight if the 2025 cast doesn’t stop acting like brats!” Yikes.
“What goes down might be too bonkers for viewers to connect with,” they added.

The insider explained that producers have experienced the most “walkouts” and “couples refusing to film” to date.
“It’s 1000 per cent looking like a circus of a series,” they admitted.
“The show works if you can relate to what you’re seeing. As long as the themes all centre around everyday Australians and their dream to find love, it doesn’t matter if there are a few drinks thrown along the way.”
However, they warned that things go south when the drama “outweighs the hope and aspirational qualities” of the show, which seems to be happening on the upcoming series.
Insiders call the Married at First Sight 2025 participants ‘FAME-HUNGRY’
The source also called the cast of the 2025 season “attention seekers”, hinting that many of them didn’t intend to find love.
“The choice to find tried and tested ‘attention seekers’ has backfired,” they said.
“The casting this year was quite specific. They were looking for people hungrier for fame than in other years. However, what they have done is created a monster. Lots of ‘monsters’.” Yikes.
Insider explains why casting ex-reality TV participants doesn’t always work
The next season of MAFS features Big Brother‘s Teejay Halkias, The Bachelor‘s Sierah Swepstone and many actors who are already comfortable behind the camera.
“[The casting team have] found people familiar with TV. They have all come with egos and with ulterior motives,” the source added.
“Their egos are disproportionate to their talent. Sierah’s the perfect example of why not to repurpose talent.”

The insider claimed that Sierah, who was famous for being a chaos queen on The Bachelor, was “too busy” trying to “control her edit”.
“She ended up coming across as boring and hard to manage, which disappointed the producers,” they spilled.
They also claimed that the contestants’ egos were “out of control“.
“They don’t want to listen to producers, and they’ve become unmanageable. The hardest part is making a comprehensive story out of the mess that has been filmed,” they added.
“It’s often the case that there are a couple of participants that are a little unruly, but this is off the charts.“
