Married at First Sight Australia 2025 groom Dave Hand considered quitting the show after being paired with a “nightmare” bride.
The 12th season of the infamous marriage experiment is just weeks into filming, yet it’s already been riddled with problem after problem.
From producers purposely matching exes to the creative team assembling a “back-up” cast, we’re anticipating the next instalment will be absolutely HECTIC.
Now, our expectations have only been kicked up a notch with the tea that groom Dave is “amongst the casualties of the 2025 season”.
Per Yahoo Lifestyle, one insider said he “was left devastated after marrying a nightmare bride”. And this is what reality TV gold is made of!
“Dave was calling friends and family frantically sending distress messages to his inner circle,” the source said. “Protesting and wanting to bail on the marriage ALREADY during his honeymoon on one of the popular islands off the coast of Australia.”

According to the outlet, Dave apparently felt that he was being “stitched up” and wanted to ditch the show.
“He was calling people left right and centre and detailing his disappointment,” the insider explained.
“The Melbournian specified during the application process that he loved animals and that his ‘whole life’ was his pet dog but when he found himself trying to get to know his new wife she was adamant she hated all animals and was freaking out with the birds on their honeymoon.
“The tension was unavoidable and it was almost comical to watch their disdain for each other.” Oh, f*ck…
Dave allegedly questioned producers about his mismatch, only to be told that “there were a few oversights in the rush to get him down the aisle”.
“However, there were plenty of other reasons why they were paired,” the source concluded.
And yep, it’s all in the name of drama and good ratings!
News of Dave’s MAFS experience thus far follows talk that producers contemplated introducing a new expert in 2025.
