Married at First Sight Australia 2024’s Lauren Dunn has addressed claims she threatened her co-star Andrea Thompson with legal action.
In April, Lauren’s former TV hubby Jonathan McCullough told Queensland radio station Hot Tomato that she “despised” him and “treated [him] so badly” on the show.
“Lauren has threatened to get lawyers onto other people because they’ve said they’re gonna out her, so I don’t feel like getting lawyers onto me,” he alleged at the time.
However, MAFS insiders denied these claims in episode 376 of the So Dramatic! podcast.
“Jono’s flat-out lying,” one source said. “The only time Lauren threatened anyone from the cast with lawyers was Andrea, and it had nothing to do with the show’s real storyline.”
During part two of her tell-all in episode 409 of the So Dramatic! podcast, Lauren confirmed that she did threaten legal action, but it wasn’t about the marriage experiment at all.
Married at First Sight’s Lauren says Andrea shared their ‘personal’ conversations with co-stars
The marketing and PR consultant explained that Andrea “thought [she’d] said something to the press that [she] hadn’t said,” causing tension to arise between them.
“Then, her and I were talking about something personal to do with our last relationships, something that we had in common,” she continued.
However, Lauren later found out Andrea had shared those private conversations with their co-stars.
“I said to her: ‘If you share this information with anyone else, you’ll be hearing from my lawyer’.
“Jono and Ellie [Dix] were saying I was threatening Andrea with legal action because she was trying to give the real narrative between Jono and me… but it wasn’t anything to do with that,” she added.
“I’d told Andrea something really, really personal that happened to me, and she shared that with someone else… I’m talking about a crime that was committed against me that I spoke about with Andrea.”
