Married at First Sight’s Harrison Boon has been at the centre of one of the show’s “biggest ever scandals” after it was revealed he was dating The Bachelors Australia 2023 star Abby Miller right up until the morning of his MAFS wedding to Bronte Schofield.
The 32-year-old stripper from Sydney has since set the record straight and revealed the true nature of his relationship with the 22-year-old beauty therapist. However, something isn’t quite adding up…
Speaking to 2DAY FM’s Hughesy, Ed & Erin on February 1, Harrison explained that it was just a “friends with benefits” situation.
“We dated for a short period of time,” he said. “On our first date, we actually discussed the fact that she had just done The Bachelor and I knew that I was heading in to be married.
“I hadn’t committed… I had been approached to do it but I hadn’t been given a date yet, it was all still up in the air.”
The father-of-one explained that he continued going on dates despite knowing he was appearing on MAFS, but was upfront about his upcoming TV appearance.
“It was a pretty open discussion, I said, ‘look, this is a possibility in the future that I might do this, so there might not be a future.’ And she was cool with that,” he said. “It was very casual. We were sorta just friends with benefits.”

According to Harrison, he was “so confused” as to who Bronte was referring to when she confronted him about the claims.
“When it came out at the wedding, I was so confused about who Bronte was even talking about,” he said.
“I was like, ‘what girlfriend? What 20-year-old?’. It actually took me a minute for the penny to drop to work out who she was talking about.”
Host Erin Molan then asked him if he’d spoken to Abby since his wedding and whether he was still in contact with her.
“No, no we haven’t spoken since,” he said.
“Once it all blew up at the wedding, I was like, ‘I’m just going to be honest and say, ‘yeah, I was just playing around, I was a single guy, but I’m here now and I’m committed’.”

Speaking on Nova FM’s Fitzy and Wippa show a day earlier, Harrison denied keeping in contact with any of his previous dates, including Bachie alum Abby.
“A lot that came out, not a lot of that is true. It’s true that I was single. It’s true that I was dating but the idea of having a relationship during [or] after the show, that’s not true,” Harrison claimed.
The construction worker revealed that he told the multiple women he had been dating that he was going to give MAFS his all and had no plans of rekindling their romance post-filming.
“I made that 100 per cent clear to everyone I was seeing before I went in there,” he said.
In particular, he confirmed that Abby wasn’t “waiting” for him on “the outside“.
“She’s got her own life. She knew exactly what I was doing. I was very upfront about it. We actually said our goodbyes and that was a bit of time before I went into the experiment and got married,” he said.

Also on January 31, Harrison was grilled over his “secret girlfriend” by Today host Sylvia Jeffreys.
“Did you or did you not cheat? Was there any overlap?” she asked him.
Harrison laughed uncomfortably, replying: “There is no cheating, no. I was single and I was dating. I made it very clear to anyone I was seeing before I went into the show.”
Harrison went on to take a swipe at The Bachelor star and wedding guest Jessica Tomlinson.
The groom said she “tried to make the day more about herself” by sabotaging his nuptials on camera.
The Channel Nine presenter pressed Harrison further with a quick-fire interrogation.
“So, just for clarity, a couple of yes or no questions: did you tell this other woman on the outside that you would hook up with her again after the experiment?” she asked.
“No,” he replied.
“Have you ceased communication with that woman?” Sylvia asked.
“Yes,” Harrison replied defiantly.
“Since walking down the aisle with Bronte?” she asked again.
“Yes,” he insisted.
Harrison Boon claims he dumped Abby Miller right before MAFS
As reported by So Dramatic!, a source close to Abby said she and Harrison met on Hinge and had been “sleeping together for about three weeks, right up until the morning of his MAFS wedding”.
Abby reportedly was unaware he was even thinking about MAFS until he mentioned it a week before his wedding.
Harrison reportedly told Abby they’d keep in touch and still see each other during filming, however, that “never happened” and “he blocked her on everything the day after the wedding”.
Leaked texts obtained by So Dramatic! on January 31 reveal the true extent of their relationship prior to the experiment.
Sources close to Harrison Boon say he was only seeing Abby Miller for a “couple of weeks”
As reported in episode 251 of the So Dramatic! podcast, sources close to Harrison backed up his claims, saying he was only seeing Abby “for a couple of weeks”.
“Like many other grooms, he was enjoying single life right up until his wedding,” they said. “He was seeing Abby for a couple of weeks and was very clear to her that it needed to end as he wanted to put 100 per cent into the show.
“There was no promise for weekend catch-ups, there was no contact during the show, and he was committed to finding love.”
The insider then provided a message from Harrison from August 20, 2022 — one day after his TV wedding — in which he ended things with Abby.
“We can’t see each other any more [sic]. I’m sorry,” it read.

Despite claims that Abby stayed the night with Harrison the day before he left for MAFS, sources close to the groom suggest otherwise.
“Harrison hadn’t seen Abby for five days leading up to his wedding, she absolutely did not stay there the night before his wedding,” they said.
They then suggested Jessica told Bronte about the drama to “set Harrison up”.
She reportedly “sent Abby [to his house when] he was packing his things”.
“Abby rocked up unannounced when he was packing, took a photo of him packing and posted it to The Bachelor group chat,” they continued. “She was there for 10 minutes”.
Jessica allegedly used the group chat “for the MAFS scandal” and “wanted the fame” of dropping the bombshell.
“It wasn’t until the end of the show that Harrison realised he’d been set up,” sources confessed. “He did not contact Abby during the experiment.
“They were never dating. They were never exclusive. It was only ever hookups.”
Apparently, the last time “Harrison spent time with Abby” prior to her showing up to his place unannounced was August 13.
Abby Miller seemingly admits things weren’t serious between her and MAFS’ Harrison Boon
In a message thread provided to So Dramatic!, Harrison appeared to ask Abby what “the nature of [their] ‘relationship'” was before he left for MAFS.
“We were seeing each other for a couple of weeks,” she wrote back. “I knew you were leaving so we said our goodbyes and I wished you luck and haven’t spoken to you since.” Interesting…
However, sources close to Abby have provided receipts that are at odds with what Harrison’s camp is claiming.
The 32-year-old sent several messages declaring he was obsessed with Abby, with one source confirming “they were very much seeing each other”.
For example, on August 4, after another sleepover, Harrison text Abby saying: “I miss your back dimples and cuddles in bed already” and “I wanna see you again soon x.”

Sources close to Abby rubbished claims that she didn’t see Harrison after August 13.
“Harrison had absolutely been seeing Abbie in the lead-up to the wedding. He had seen her most days, including the night before when she had stayed over,” they said.
“The reason there are no texts during this time frame to prove it is because Abby was with him in person the whole time.”
They then submitted a message thread from August 15, in which Harrison thanked her for “an amazing weekend”.
“Can’t wait to see you Wednesday night for cuddles,” he concluded.
“Are we gonna get dinner?” Abby questioned.
She then said she couldn’t believe he’d be leaving for MAFS “for three months”.
Harrison then said it “feels like [they’ve] been dating for ages”. Sorry, what was that about them “never dating”, then?

Now, according to insiders, the last time Abby saw Harrison was August 18 — the morning after she stayed over and the day he left for MAFS.
“Abby has texts between them discussing their dinner plans on August 17,” they said, alongside a screenshot of the thread.
Then, after she left Harrison’s place on August 18, she sent an apology because, according to sources, she’d asked him if he’d been sleeping with other people.
“Sorry, for last night, I just had to get it off my chest,” she penned. “But was really nice getting to know you have fun tomorrow and good luck [sic] I wish you all the best.
“Hopefully I can see you soon and continue having a laugh and giving you head massages.”
Harrison replied: “I would like that.”
So, the day that Harrison left for his MAFS wedding, he was telling Abby that he would like to “see her soon” and have more laughs and get more head massages?! Doesn’t sound like a man who is about to fully commit to his wife but go off!
Another text message shows Harrison promising to call Abby on August 18 at 10:04 pm — just hours after she had left his house and he had left for MAFS. He would have been in lockdown at this point ahead of his wedding.
Harrison Boon denies having ‘a 20-year-old on the outside’ before admitting he was ‘seeing a number of girls’ before MAFS
During the premiere episode of MAFS on January 30, things took a turn at Bronte and Harrison’s wedding when wedding guest Jessica dropped the bombshell that “her friend from Sydney” was dating Harrison up until his wedding.
“He said he wants to be with her when he finishes the experiment… babe it’s him,” she says.
“He’s been planning a future with this girl, and he’s planning on being with her after this experience.”
When Bronte confronted Harrison and asked him who the 20-year-old is that he has on the outside, he said, “I don’t have a 20-year-old on the outside, I’m dead serious. I don’t have anyone on the outside.”
However, he quickly changed his story and admitted he was “seeing a number of girls” before entering the experiment.
“I was a single guy in Sydney,” he said. “But I’m not in a relationship with anyone, they’re just people that I was seeing.
“I was seeing multiple women at a time before I came into this. I’m not going to hide from who I was. I was single and dating around. I’m not going to pretend like I wasn’t.”
Harrison Boon’s story changed AGAIN when talking to new wife Bronte Schofield
Moments later, Harrison’s story changed again when he confessed to having feelings for Abby and even told his new wife that he wished it was The Bachelor star he was marrying.
“There’s someone that I’ve had a crush on for a long time, and we connected like a week before doing this,” he admitted.
“In the lead up to I was actually saying to her, ‘I kinda wished it was you I was doing this with. I kinda wish that I was with you. It sucks that we connected right before this happened’,” he stated.
However, Harrison’s story changed for a third time, when he appeared to make out that he actually didn’t have feelings for Abby and the romance was one-sided.
“The person you are talking about really likes me. I might have said things that would soften the blow, that I was doing this, and if we would catch up later, great. I didn’t want to be an asshole about it.”
Harrison then denied things were ever “serious” between him and Abby.
