Rumours are swirling that Andy Lee will “snap up one of the houses” on The Block 2023 on auction day.

For those not in the loop, the Aussie TV and radio star already has ties to the 19th season of the reno show, with his and Hamish Blake‘s former assistant Eliza Paschke being a contestant this year.

Early in the season, debunked rumours that Hamish and wife Zoë Foster Blake would purchase Eliza and sister Liberty Paschke‘s reno’d home circulated.

Now, one source has told Yahoo! Lifestyle that they saw Andy at the recent The Block Open for Inspections on October 15.

Apparently, the 42-year-old “looked happy to be there and was actively checking out” House Five.

“The reserve prices are currently being discussed and it wouldn’t be unreasonable for Andy to snap up one of the houses on the street,” the insider said.

“Wouldn’t that be a positive and fun way to tie up the season.”

Andy Lee was ‘surprised’ at the quality of Eliza and Liberty Paschke’s The Block property

The insider added that Andy showed up to the inspections mid-afternoon.

“[He was] wearing a baseball cap and trying not to take away from the girls’ moment,” they said.

“He seemed quite surprised at how well the girls had gone and was incredibly supportive.”

Given the 2022 season’s drama surrounding dummy bidding and allegations that friends were bidding on contestants’ properties, we’d be very surprised if Andy was actually serious about dropping cash on any of The Block 2023 homes.

Insiders also recently alleged that Hamish and Andy “have made complaints to senior executives” at Nine about the show.

“They don’t condone bullying or promoting bad behaviour,” a source claimed.
