The Block 2023‘s Leah and Ash Milton have spoken out about their “toxic” friendship with their former besties Kristy and Brett Beams.

The controversial teams locked horns after Leah shaded Kristy for accusing Eliza and Liberty Paschke of receiving special treatment.

Speaking to news.com.au on September 29, Leah, 31, admitted that her relationship with Kristy had turned “toxic“.

“Kristy and I only had The Block as our talking point. We don’t know each other’s lives, so our conversation was so much about [the show],” she said.

“First it was jokes here and there, but as the weeks went on, I thought it was getting a bit snarky. We really liked [Eliza and Liberty] and when they were visibly upset about the Channel Nine plant conspiracies, we thought it’d gone too far.

“It was time to step back and look at what role we’d played in all this,” the first aid trainer recalled.

And whilst it was reported that the couple had “realigned” with Kristy and Brett, they admitted that this rumour was far from true.

“There’s absolutely no realigning with them. It’s not fair that rumours have sparked up when no one has the facts,” Leah asserted.

Yahoo! Lifestyle also reported that Eliza secretly urged Leah to “free herself from an impending backlash” of being buddies with Kristy.

However, the Brisbane-based couple both denied this rumour, calling it “total baloney”.

“The allegations that Eliza came over and told Leah there’d be no TV career in her future? It didn’t happen,” Ash, 38, told news.com.au.

“It paints Leah in a bad light and Eliza in a good light … but it didn’t happen, hand on heart.”

Leah also revealed that she’d apologised to Steph Ottavio for “judging [her] too quickly”, but this heartfelt moment never made it to air.

So it seems the couple’s apology tour may be legit after all!

The Block‘s Leah slams Liberty and Eliza for being shady

Leah then admitted that she was “shocked” about how much Eliza and Liberty “talked about [her] behind [her] back”.

“[Ash and I] didn’t expect that,” she said. “We were very close with the girls. We went to their house most nights, they FaceTimed our kids… I was a little bit shocked at that one.”

However, the couple confessed that they were yet to confront the sisters about this issue. And the irony isn’t lost on us!
