On August 28, the 37-year-old spoke candidly about his past on The Betar Project podcast, explaining how fitness and holistic wellness changed how he viewed sex.

The reality star told host Nick Betar that watching pornography since he was a teenager had caused him to struggle in his relationships.

“It was impacting my intimacy with my partners,” he said, explaining that it led to lots of casual sex.

However, he’s since changed his habits as he realised he was looking for real love.

“I’ve stopped [having] casual sex because it’s not meaningful and [it’s] almost like using someone else’s body to masturbate,” he explained, stating he was seeking “something special”.

“Now I seek fulfilment. I seek the actual meaningful connections,” he added.

The model also opened up about his past struggles with drugs.

“For three years, every single weekend, I was constantly going on benders. I was constantly drinking alcohol [and] taking recreational drugs,” he confessed. “I was seeing no sun, I was white like Casper the ghost.”

“[On weekends] I’d easily spend $2,000 on cocaine and MDMA and live like a rockstar. And then on Monday morning, I’d just feel so sh*t,” he added.

However, he explained that he acted this way because it was “the only thing [he knew]”.

“At the time, [it was] magical. I was connecting at a deep level with my friends and co-workers through drugs, and I was like, wow. I’m not shy anymore. I can do this. I feel people. It was fantastic,” he recalled.

However, his partying came to an end when he looked at himself in the mirror after a wild night out and assessed what he wanted in his life.

“That was when I touched rock bottom. And that morning I asked for help,” he said.

Thomas now works as a longevity coach and motivational speaker, embracing a lifestyle of wellness and holistic health. He’s also in the process of writing a book to help people who relate to his past struggles.
