Fans of The Block have put forward their ideas for future seasons, proposing that the hit renovation show sets up shop in a state other than Victoria.
As we get stuck into the 19th season, it’s no surprise that viewers are begging producers to shake up The Block moving forward.
And nope, they’re not just talking about giving the Blockheads the FULL building schedule upfront.

Taking to Reddit, one user said the show needs to film “in another state to recoup some interest”.
“Have a go at a different vernacular of design and climate.”
FYI: The Block hasn’t always been based in Victoria. The first three seasons were filmed in Bondi, Manly and Vaucluse, NSW, respectively.
However, with a Victoria-based production since its fourth season, no wonder viewers want a change of scenery.
“They should [go to] a regional town like Townsville!” another Redditor suggested, while others said Western Australia, South Australia, Queensland or Tasmania would be interesting.
Meanwhile, some fans preferred to see “different sponsors”.
“Because the builds are starting to look very generic,” they said.
One person even suggested to “get rid of [the show] altogether”. Tell us how you really feel!
The Block 2024 will return to a RURAL location
Leaked paperwork obtained by the Herald Sun in August that the show will be going carbon-neutral next year on another rural site.
According to the publication, a planning permit to build five luxury homes on farmland in Daylesford’s Raglan Street has been lodged with Victoria’s Hepburn Shire Council.
Whilst the permit wasn’t in Channel Nine’s name, Julian Brenchley, one of the regular architects for The Block, was listed as the joint applicant on the proposal. So this tea sounds pretty legit to us!
The paperwork surfaced after The Blockinator Blog Instagram account unveiled the new location — much to the chagrin of fans!
“I’m surprised they would do this country format again, it was a fail last time,” one fan confessed of the 2022 Tree Change season.

Another suggested The Block hire a new architect “because the style of extensions and new homes is getting really tired”.
“Daylesford is a town full of old historic cottages and that’s why people both live and stay there,” they added. “So I hope to see something of a similar nature because they really missed that mark last year.”
