FBOY Island host Abbie Chatfield has revealed that she’s quit her 2DayFM radio show, Hot Nights With Abbie Chatfield, to focus on other priorities.

On August 17, the reality star took to Instagram to share the shocking news with her followers.

“So I quit radio,” she dished, before telling her fans that it was “entirely [her] decision”.

“I wanted to leave and I’m so happy that I’ve made this decision,” the Fboy Island and Masked Singer judge gushed.

The 28-year-old explained that she’d been thinking about quitting “all year” and during her time off, she decided that she wanted to prioritise “television, podcasting and live tours” and other projects.

The Masked Singer judge also shared that she was looking forward to improving her social life and seeing her friends and family on weeknights and fair enough!

“I just wasn’t getting joy from [radio] anymore and it was really taxing on me. It made my performance in other areas lack,” the podcast host confessed.

The former Bachelor star expressed that she was “really proud” of herself for quitting, explaining that it was a difficult decision.

As for her next steps, Abbie said she’s still working on her podcast, as well as hosting the Fridayz Live events. She also wanted to continue her Australian Made segment, which “spotlights Australian musicians”.

“There’s a lot of power in quitting and I’m not very good at letting things go. But I’m trying to get better at it and [radio] is something that I’m ready to let go of. I’m ready to see what doors open up,” she continued.

“I just didn’t want to do it anymore, to be honest.”

Abbie Chatfield admits that she has a ‘real addiction to work

Abbie’s shock announcement comes after she revealed that she was shifting her priorities as she had a “real addiction to work”.

“I’ve been depleted and burnt out since the start of the year,” Abbie explained during the July 17 episode of her podcast.

“I’ve realised that my priorities need to shift, as I’ve taken on so many jobs and I’m trying to figure out what I do and don’t want to do. I’m trying not to push myself to work way harder than I need to,” she said.

“It’s time for me to evaluate and reprioritise things so that my podcast is my main priority.”

Power to her!
