It seems people aren’t too keen on signing up for our favourite marriage experiment because a Married at First Sight Australia producer was recently caught scouting singles at a bar in Sydney.
As revealed in episode 303 of the So Dramatic! podcast, one producer was snooping around Sydney’s Newtown Hotel hoping to find some blue tick love-seeking singles.

“I’m at the Newtown Hotel and my friend was just approached by someone casting for MAFS 2024,” one spy dished.
“A woman came up to [my boyfriend and his friend] and asked: ‘Are you boys single? Would you be interested in going on a dating show?'” they continued.
According to our source, producers have already cast all of the women for the upcoming season, but no men, so it sounds like they haven’t found any gaslighters yet. Coz, after all, MAFS is known for exclusively casting red flags!
This comes after reports that MAFS producers are “struggling” to find “genuine” participants for the upcoming season.
“We’re looking for people who are genuinely looking for love, not just a quick ticket to fame,” an industry insider told an outlet. And we’re hardly surprised. You’re VERY unlikely to find people looking for love at a bar. Just saying…
Two former Bachies were asked to join Married at First Sight 2024
And if you thought the producer pub crawl was desperate enough, think again, because 2023 Bachies Jed McIntosh AND Thomas Malucelli were reportedly approached to appear on MAFS 2024.

“Jed McIntosh and Thomas Malucelli were asked by casting producers a few months ago if they would consider doing MAFS this year,” one production insider told So Dramatic!.
Adding that filming is set to begin in September, the men both “told friends they weren’t keen on the idea”.
“But you never know.”
Oh, God. We already feel sorry for the 2024 brides…
