Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Melinda Willis has admitted her and Layton Mills‘ post-show relationship is “hard” amid long-distance arrangements.
While their romance got off to a rocky start, Melinda and Layton exited the experiment as one of the few strong couples left unscathed.
Now, Melinda has taken to Instagram with a Q&A sesh, in which she revealed what life with Layton is like months after filming wrapped.
The 33-year-old, who is based in Brisbane, confessed that their long-distance relo comes with a litany of challenges for her and her Sydney-based beau.
“It can be hard sometimes, particularly when we argue and can’t be physically there to hug each other,” she explained.
“We can then go a few days feeling disconnected.”
Despite the difficulties, the beauty CEO is pretty confident that Layton is her forever boo.

In a subsequent Q&A, a fan asked Melinda which “moment” was when she “realised Layton was the one”.
Despite her frosty front, she confessed it was at their wedding.
“I had this weird feeling he could be The One during our speeches and again during our first dance,” she confessed.
“But I kept it to myself and ignored it and shut it out of my mind for my protection.”
Elaborating, she said further confirmation came during the Couple Swap experiment.
“When he took the extra night away he came to see me after I called him in a panic attack crying,” she recalled.
“The way he held me and looked after me, with hurt in his eyes seeing me so hurt… I knew he was my human.”

After the show wrapped, Layton hinted that he could be headed for Queensland to further their relationship.
“If we want our relationship to progress, I’d consider moving to Brisbane,” he told 9Entertainement.
“I have family there as well, so the idea isn’t too daunting.” Awww!
