Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Bronte Schofield has revealed what really happened between her and Harrison Boon at the Reunion after they were cut from the final edit.
ICYMI: Fans were up in arms after the couple’s final couch session was scrapped from the finale because, let’s be honest, Bronte and Harrison’s stoushes were the HIGHLIGHT of the season.
One source later told So Dramatic! that their storyline had already been “overkilled”, and they wanted to “give the other couples some airtime”.
Now, Bronte has confirmed allegations that there “was probably not much” producers could use from their couch session because they were “bickering” a hell of a lot.
“We got on the couch [and] we sat on opposite ends of the couch,” she recalled in part five of her So Dramatic! podcast tell-all. “He goes ‘This is not even further enough to how I want to be far away from her’.
“We were just bickering back and forth. It was pointless.”
According to Bronte, Harrison “kept saying that he wasn’t the issue” in their relationship.
However, when expert John Aiken played back moments from the experiment for the cast, the clips told a different story.

“Basically it was Harrison gaslighting me, shutting me down, me storming out, me crying, nothing good,” Bronte said.
“It was so bad and everyone starts laughing, but in Harrison’s head, he thought everyone was laughing at me.
“Everyone was laughing at him.”
The 28-year-old said that Harrison’s previous claims that “Bronte’s such a bad person” unravelled then and there.
However, the father-of-one still insisted the replay “isn’t accurate” to what happened in their relationship.
“I’ve just gone silent at this point. I don’t need to say anything else.”
As for the experts: Bronte confessed they “didn’t really grill him for much at all”.
“It was just them saying, ‘Harrison, you still didn’t take accountability for anything’.” Hear, hear!
In hindsight, Bronte agrees that the Reunion Dinner Party, which ended with Harrison being laughed out the door for his attempt at exposing his wife, was the perfect conclusion to their storyline.
“The way that the Dinner Party ended was a good enough ending for me and Harrison,” she admitted.
What did Harrison Boon say in his email to Channel Nine about the Reunion?
According to one MAFS insider, Harrison immediately complained to producers about his edit following the Reunion.
“[ thought he was going to be the alpha male jock type and Bronte was going to be the villain,” they explained. “He complained to producers on the night it was filmed, saying it wasn’t an accurate representation of him or what had happened and tried to get his edit redone.”
He allegedly threatened to sue Channel Nine “for defamation of character” if they aired the Reunion scenes.
However, in episode 288 of the So Dramatic! podcast, Bronte said she doesn’t think the network “give[s] two shits about Harrison’s threats”.
“I’m sorry, but everyone’s been threatened by Harrison at this point and they’re just empty threats.”
According to Bronte, Harrison’s “threatening” email went a little like this:
“Hi, Harrison here. I just wanted to address my concerns for the edit. I believe that Bronte wasn’t villainised enough. Bronte did so much in this relationship.
“Bronte is the issue, Bronte is the villain, Bronte didn’t get an accurate edit. I believe that you should re-edit it and make Bronte look worse.”
Bronte added: “Then he’s signed that off, ‘Thank you, kind regards, H Bomb’.”
