Channel Nine has delayed plans to hand the Married at First Sight Australia 2023 cast their Instagram accounts back, and the participants are not impressed.

In the past, stars’ social media accounts were given back just two weeks after the finale. However, this year’s cast will have to wait an additional week despite being told they’d have free reign from May 8.

In an email obtained by So Dramatic!, a Nine employee told MAFS participants that the delay is due to a change in the UK’s broadcast of the series.

“Hi all, apologies but unfortunately our handover meetings will push back a week as the UK has changed their broadcast of episodes, moving the final two reunions to next week,” it read.

Noting that they will reschedule meetings, the employee said the network “appreciate[s] [their] patience and assistance”.

“Apologies for this timing!”

Married at First Sight Australia 2023 cast are ‘P*SSED’ over Instagram delay

An insider further told So Dramatic! that “the cast members are furious and p*ssed off” with the hold-up, and no wonder. Think about all of the brand deals they’re missing out on and the BTS tea they can’t spill!

“Some of us had work already booked and now we’ve had to put it on hold and push it back a week, majorly stuffing up our schedules for the next few months,” one contestant dished.

“It’s ridiculous. They are pulling the p*ss.”

At the time of writing, comments are still disabled on the participants’ social media pages, and they don’t have access to their DMs.

“We’re also unable to book in as many deals we could be because brands have no way to contact us,” one bride explained.

“It’s so annoying.” FFS, Channel Nine, sort your sh*t out!

Channel Nine is reportedly also concerned that the delay will further entice participants to go rogue. And ICYMI: it’s already been an uphill battle thus far.

So Dramatic! recently revealed the cast copped a spicy email from Nine about sharing content on less heavily-policed platforms.

Contestants were sent a “reminder, [they] are still not permitted to use/ interact/ communicate via any form of social media at this time including Facebook or TikTok“.

“If you are or have been posting to other platforms such as TikTok, please cease to do so, remove the content posted and return your account to private,” the email said.

Good luck with that!
