Married at First Sight Australia 2023‘s Bronte Schofield has detailed the “weird” way Harrison Boon introduced her to his son, August, during the experiment.
While the couple’s TV marriage was a shambles, to say the least, Harrison was adamant that Bronte meeting his son was a major highlight during the experiment.
However, Bronte has since revealed the encounter was far less ceremonious than Harrison portrayed to the experts and their co-stars.
In part three of her tell-all with So Dramatic!, the 28-year-old said she was unwell with the flu when Harrison appeared on her doorstep with August.
“I was actually really unwell… All I remember is [that] I just got out of the shower and I was wrapped in my towel,” Bronte confessed in episode 282 of the So Dramatic! podcast.
While she knew Harrison was spending the day with his son, she had “no idea he was coming” to meet her.
“All of a sudden the door opens and this little man walks through the door,” she recalled. “I was like, ‘What’s happening? I’ve got a towel on, and I’m sick. He knows I’m sick. Why’s he bringing his son around me if I’m sick?'”
Bronte soon learned that August was also unwell, so the pair were “both just so grumpy”.

While the Western Australian “felt really bad” for August, she was trying to “engage with August as much as [she] could” because she knew how big of a deal with was for Harrison.
“Harrison had told me, ‘I only introduce my son to women that I care about’. So I was like like, ‘Wow, he must feel really comfortable in order to bring his son around me’,” she explained.
But, as we now know, Harrison introduces his son to women as often as he changes his underwear, with one previously telling So Dramatic! he brought August to their first date. Yikes.
Bronte added: “I was like, ‘This is actually a really big moment, a really big deal’. I was just trying to make [August] feel really comfortable.
“But it was definitely one of those moments that you wish you were prepared for because even if I was sick, I at least would have liked to have been clothed.”
Noting that it was “weird”, Bronte has since deduced that Harrison “never intended” to introduce her to August.
“He just had to stop by and get clothes, I just happened to be there,” she admitted. “In reality… he had to do it anyway.”

Bronte believes Harrison exaggerated her meeting with August to make himself appear serious about their relationship.
“He used that to his advantage by being like, ‘But Bronte’s met my son, so I am serious’,” she explained. “I look back on it now, I’m just kind of like, it’s a bit of a cheap shot.”
Whatever his angle, Bronte couldn’t deny that Harrison was every bit the doting father.
“He was very attentive,” she recalled. “August was getting upset and he made sure that he was hugging him and he made sure that he felt comfortable.
“This is where I started to think I’m actually seeing a softer side to Harrison.”
However, this “soft” side was often an act, according to Harrison’s ex, Sophie, who exposed the TV groom’s manipulative behaviour in a juicy interview with the So Dramatic! podcast in April.
