Nick Kyrgios has taken a savage swipe at the cast of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! Australia 2023 in response to whether he’d ever appear on the Channel Ten reality show.

The very outspoken tennis star was answering a question from a fan on his Instagram Stories when he declared he would never be seen on the show because the calibre of celebrities cast are far beneath how the 27-year-old regards himself.

Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, Nick said it was a “no”.

“People that go on that show tend to not be celebrities anyway, excuse to get money…,” he said.

“They take themselves a bit too seriously because they are known in Australia.”

Even though it’s a big nope to I’m A Celebrity, Nick was a commentator on a different reality show, Australian Ninja Warrior in 2021 before it was canned.

Which so-called non-celebrities have appeared on I’m A Celebrity?

Despite what Nick thinks, a number of other high-profile stars have appeared on the show since its Australian debut in 2013.

In fact, his fellow Aussie tennis star Bernard Tomic was a part of season four in 2018. He became the first contestant in I’m A Celebrity history to withdraw after just three days.

Other sports stars like AFL great Barry Hall, late cricketing legend Shane Warne, and boxers Anthony Mundine and Danny Green have also entered the jungle over the years.

Nick’s brutal Instagram post comes as this year’s I’m A Celebrity contestants’ salaries were revealed.

In addition to competing to o win $100,000 for their chosen charity, they do get a little something something for themselves.

Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins is taking home the highest salary out of all of his cast mates this year. He is reportedly making around $300,000.

TV royalty Kerri-Anne Kennerley was paid a whopping $180,000 for the few days she spent in the South African jungle.
