Australian Survivor: Heroes vs Villains 2023 contestant Simon Mee has given fans insight into the brutal reality of the show in now-deleted tweets.

The tradie, who first appeared on our screens in 2021’s Brains vs Brawns, was dashed of his dreams to win the Survivor crown when he was sent home by host Jonathan LaPaglia during the 19 March episode.

But not before the 33-year-old exposed his beef with fellow contestant Gerry Geltch over *checks notes* firewood of all things.

What went down between Simon Mee and Gerry Geltch

In a series of now-deleted tweets, Simon responded to remarks about Gerry scolding his placement of the tribe’s firewood.

“Poor Simon, can’t even get firewood duties done right,’ the comment said.

Simon, as fans know, is usually pretty well-manned despite being at the bottom of his tribe’s hierarchy for the majority of the game.

But he let loose in his reply and turns out the sleeping arrangements revealed “a lot”.

“You can always tell a lot about the pecking order of the tribe by the sleeping arrangements,” Simon said in the deleted tweet.

“Gerry slept in the middle of the shelter with the blanket every night. But when he collected firewood, he stacked it down at the end of the shelter. Which also happened to be my bed.”

In a follow-up tweet, which has also since been deleted, Simon said he endured the laborious task of moving the firewood every time he wanted to sleep on his bed-turned-firewood shelter.

Australian Survivor pecking order revealed by firewood placement

Former Australia Survivor player Matt Tarrant piped up in response, saying it was “legit true” players should “never sleep on the edge of the bed at camp” if they wanted to stay in the good books.

“Aww thanks, Matt,” said Simon.

“I remember how excited I was when I was able to fit under the tarp for the first time after Shaun [Hampson] left.”

At least Simon will be getting a decent sleep now he’s been sent home!
