Australian Survivor: Heroes v Villains 2023 is being called out after fans suspected a green screen was used in some scenes.
The eighth season has returned to Samoa for the first time since 2016, meaning viewers are once again privy to some epic views as the contestants battle it out for Sole Survivor.
However, one eagle-eyed fan clocked one suss scene in which the landscape looked a little too perfect.
Taking to a Facebook group for Survivor die-hards, the user shared a still of Simon Mee during a confessional.
“Did anyone else think it looked like Simon was sitting in front of a green screen here?” they questioned.
In the pic, the two-time competitor sits shirtless on a rock, a few metres back from a beach shoreline.
TBH, we kinda agree that the shot looks a bit dodgy — he looks like he’s been copied and pasted into the landscape!
Other fans of the show also thought “it looked weird”.
“That’s exactly what I thought,” one penned, while another viewer said it was “totally fake”.
Other eagled-eyed users noticed a few cosmetic differences on Simon that set this scene apart from his appearance throughout the rest of the series.
“Has he had a haircut[?] It looks really neat,” a fan pointed out.
Meanwhile, another person said they “hadn’t noticed” Simon’s Birkenstock shoes elsewhere in the show, so it made them “question” whether it was filmed post-production.

One fan said they’d been watching the episode on catch-up TV, and noticed that Simon was visible on screen at certain points, despite being overheard talking.
“Strangely enough the camera was not focused on him after that,” they wrote. “We just heard his words as he walked around camp.”
They then questioned the timeline in which Australian Survivor was filmed.
“[It] might have been filmed after the show finished after it was realised footage/audio was not good.”
God, between this faux pas and the sh*tty Married at First Sight edits, reality TV fans should be qualified detectives by now!
