The Bachelors Australia 2023 may only just be kicking off; however, the series has already been dubbed “cursed” by its leading men, Felix Von HofeThomas Malucelli and Jed McIntosh.

With the show scrapped from Channel Ten’s lineup in 2022, several months have passed since filming wrapped last August.

As have a series of VERY unfortunate events, with the leads telling Yahoo! Lifestyle that “so many things have gone wrong” in their lives.

They’ve also admitted that they “can’t wait for it all to be over” and TBH, we don’t blame them!

So, why are The Bachelors 2023 cast wanting to distance themselves from the once-hit series?

Jed McIntosh’s studio fire

Just two days after Christmas Day in 2022, Jed lost his $30,000 drum kit in a fire that ripped through his recording studio in Melbourne.

According to the Daily Mail, the 25-year-old drummer lost his prized instrument at Staples Studios in East Brunswick, where his now-demolished office was also located.

Jed’s manager, Cam Noble, said the inferno also saw $200,000 worth of recording equipment and autographed photos destroyed.

He also provided a link to a GoFundMe page created to raise money in the hopes of getting the space back “up and running”.

Thomas Malucelli’s near-neath motorcycle accident

In October, 35-year-old Thomas revealed he was lucky to be alive after sustaining multiple injuries in a motorcycle accident.

Taking to Instagram following the October 2 crash, the restaurant manager said he “hit the ground pretty hard”.

“But I’m so grateful that my body is a miracle!” he admitted. “2nd motorbike accident that I’m involved in that’s not my fault… Gotta really have eyes everywhere.

On October 4, Thomas shared an update on his health alongside a snap of himself smiling from his hospital bed.

“Update: I have a broken collarbone, torn ligament on my thumb,” he told fans.

He also admitted to suffering a “few scratches and bruises” but was ultimately “okay” and raved about “being looked after so well” by hospital staff.

The cast has faced a loss of income due to The Bachelors Australia 2023 delays

In September 2022, it was revealed that the tenth season of The Bachelor would be delayed until 2023.

However, the postponement wasn’t entirely welcome among the cast, with some telling So Dramatic! that the contestants were “furious” about the scheduling change.

“No one is happy about it,” one said. “We’ve been dragged on for so long already. It’s been a huge disruption to all of our lives which have been put on hold for months now.”

Similarly, a source told Yahoo! Lifestyle that pro basketballer Felix has been in limbo, with his contract prohibiting him from making public appearances as part of his job.

The publication said he is also limited in what promotions he can take on while under Ten’s guidance.

“Felix and the boys knew they’d have to press pause on their lives until the show aired, but they only thought this would be for a month or so,” the insider said.

“They all expected it to air in September or October, not for it to keep getting pushed back until January.

“At this point, they just can’t wait for it all to be over.”
