Married at First Sight Australia 2022”s Daniel Holmes has revealed that he and bae Carolina Santos have broken up. However, he quickly deleted the Instagram post just minutes after it went live.
Despite telling So Dramatic! that “all is good” between the couple after fans speculated a split, the 31-year-old took to Instagram on August 8 to reveal they have “gone [their] separate ways”.
In the now-deleted statement, Daniel said the announcement comes after he was “bombarded so much” about his relationship status.
“I think it’s been obvious for a while that we have gone our separate ways,” he penned. “There’s no right way to deal with these situations.”
The TV groom said he felt “huge pressure to just hold off” on making the break-up public as he anticipated “all the hate that’s [going to] come”.
“I wish Carolina all the best and I know she feels the same for me, we had a very unique experience together full of every emotion possible but life just has a different plan for us.”
He captioned the statement: “Be kind pls. [sic].”
Carolina is yet to address the split.
The news comes just hours after the couple’s co-stars and besties Olivia Frazer and Jackson Lonie announced their own break-up.
Daniel Holmes Previously Denied Breaking Up With Carolina Santos
In early August, fans speculated (yet again) that the 2022 intruders had called it quits on their controversial relationship after a slew of telling Insta posts.
But despite the onslaught of cryptic “thirst traps” from Carolina on Instagram (which weren’t even liked by her TV bae), Daniel exclusively told So Dramatic! that all is well between the couple.
When asked about the speculation, Daniel told So Dramatic! that “no, all is good”. Was it, tho?
Several fans voiced concern over the seemingly rocky relationship after Carolina mused that she was “broken” in her Instagram caption on July 31.
Alongside a bikini thirst trap, the 34-year-old wrote: “Smile and no one will see how broken you are inside 😊. [sic].”
The cryptic post prompted MAFS fans to question whether Carolina was still with Daniel, while other users pointed out the personal trainer hadn’t liked the recent post.
Carolina’s co-stars also added fuel to the fire, with a show of support for the Brazillian bride.
“I love you ❤️. [sic].” Jessica Seracino (and Daniel’s OG MAFS wife) penned.
Similarly, Tamara Djordejvic left a string of red heart emojis in the comment section.
In a subsequent post, Carolina shared a clip of herself enjoying Sydney’s shorelines, which was backed by Taylor Swift‘s Love Story.

However, Carolina clapped back at one follower who asked “was there a breakup”, insisting that it was just a brand collaboration post.
“Who broke up honey it’s a bikini collaboration 🤦🏻♀️ [sic],” Carolina responded.
This Isn’t the First Time Fans Have Worried About Carolina Santos and Daniel Holmes’ Relationship
On July 4, Married at First Sight fans first shared their concerns that Daniel and Carolina had parted ways after he shared a worrying Instagram Story.
A few days prior, he wrote: “I’m not okay. I cry every day. I’m lost, I’m lonely, I’m scared. I feel immense pressure, I trust no-one. I fail and then I fail again. The ones I love hurt me. I hurt them back. I’m sorry. [sic].”
However, despite the perplexing post, Daniel asserted that all was well in their neck of the woods.
“Just wanted to make a quick story addressing some of the sh*t I said on my story the other day and also there were a couple of articles saying we were broken up and stuff,” he said.
“Still very much together,” Carolina interrupted.
Daniel continued. “It was really, really bad day for me, the other day. Maybe a build-up of a lot of stuff.”
