Amid all the excitement (and resentment) over The Bachelor Australia 2023 casting THREE leads, eagle-eyed fans have already picked up on some whack editing fails.
On Monday, Network Ten *officially* announced what So Dramatic! had already exclusively revealed: Felix Von Hofe, Thomas Malucelli and Jed McIntosh will be our frontmen for 2022, under the title of The Bachelors.
We wish we could say that was a working title, but, well, that’s what they went with…
Along with the reveal on The Project, a host of promo images were released, including individual headshots and a group snap that looked like a boy band’s tour poster.
However, upon further inspection, it appears that someone didn’t take as much care in editing the photographs as they did gelling Jed’s bleached-blond hair.
Casting an eye down to Thomas’ tootsies, it looks like they’ve done a complete cut and paste job.
While his shoes look particularly cartoon-ish, a chunk is also missing from Thomas’ pants!
It definitely seems like a rushed photoshop job… Could this be due to a snap decision to announce the leading men after their identities were leaked?
Sure, It’s a “World-First”, But People Aren’t Happy About the Three Bachelors
“We are so excited. We’re doing a world first. No one in the world has ever had three bachelors,” host Osher Günsberg told The Project panel. “And so, therefore, the way it works, the way everyone gets to know each other is very different this year.”
Osher added that the process has been “fascinating” so far, but we have a feeling that it won’t be enough to get viewers back onside after what is shaping up to be a major oversight by Network Ten.
Following a previous Bachelorette season that heroed a bisexual, First Nations woman — Kween Brooke Blurton — Network Ten has backed it up with… three white men. How revolutionary.
Brooke’s friend Gab Ebsworth took to Instagram to voice her disappointment with the network’s head-scratch-inducing decision.
“How are you going to have the most incredible queer, Blak and lovely Bachelorette in [Brooke] then back it up with three boring white guys the year after? [sic]” she wrote on her Story.
“It’s f*cking embarrassing and just goes to show networks don’t care about diversity but about shock value. It’s a real shame [Channel Ten] turned up so many people of colour for this snooze fest.”
