Bachelorette Brooke Blurton has revealed the real reason behind her split from Darvid Garayeli in a lengthy statement issued to her Instagram story on Thursday evening.
In the post, Brooke claimed that she was the one to call time on the relationship.
“I’ll be the first to say that it was my choice to end the relationship and I had been thinking about it for a bit towards the end,” she wrote.
“I had been unhappy for a bit and it wasn’t just solely because of the relationship.
“I have a lot of respect for Darvid and what he gave up for me to be IN the relationship but it seems that we both lost ourselves along the way.”
Brooke then cited pressure and the death of her sister as the main factors behind her decision to end things.
“We had a very real love in a very unreal situation but we equally had ALOT of pressure on us too. Which I felt I carried everyday,” she said.
“At the start of the show, I was the best version of myself and when the show ended and my sister died, I became the worst and my saddest.”
Brooke also confirmed there was no infidelity on either side, as has been speculated.
“I love Darvid and he has a good heart but unfortunately we ended up being two different people who wanted different things and that’s just that,” she wrote.
“No infidelity, no hate, just a pressure cooker.
She added: “We’re as amicable as you can be during a healing process. I still love him dearly and have no regrets choosing him.”
Brooke then wished Darvid “all the very best” and said she wanted to “move past this.”

Brooke Blurton and Darvid Garayeli BLOCKED Each Other on Insta Following Split
Earlier this week, Brooke and Darvid’s split became ever messier after they blocked each other online following their recent breakup.
In case you missed it (though we doubt you did!), Darvid revealed that the couple had broken up via his Instagram story on January 2.
Brooke was then forced to address the post, eventually sharing one of her own, admitting that she was blindsided by his announcement. She later deleted all non-Bachelorette-related photos of the pair from her account.
Now, it looks like the estranged couple has taken it one step further by blocking each other on the ‘gram.
And if that doesn’t signal that they’re done for good and things have ended not-so-amicably, we’re not sure what does!
