Big Brother is back, ba-beh and given the YUGE amount of hype around the show’s 2022 instalment, you would think that the contestants (especially the royalty) have been paid a pretty penny to show their faces, right?
Welp, that isn’t exactly the case…
Each and every BBAU 2022 contestant signed on for only $120 per day.
Looks like all of Channel Seven’s budget went into building the Zen room, huh?
“Although you’d assume some of them would have bagged big fees, the majority of the old stars simply said yes as they know getting back in the public eye again will lead to more media work, brand deals and income outside of the show,” an insider source told the publication.
However, the winning housemate will also take home a grand prize of $250k, which sounds like a pretty sweet deal!
Not ALL Housemates Got the Same Amount
Apparently, season one winner Reggie Bird was paid differently. In fact, she got $50 more, totalling $170 per day. Meaning, that if she makes it through the entire 62 days, she’ll walk away with approximately $10k — which actually, is not a kick in the teeth!
Well, she is the Big Brother OG after all…
